My bet is either MLG didn't want to move, or couldn't because they couldn't get the gear/venue on other dates where it fitted the MLG schedule.
What could be cool, would be that MLG would come out and "sponsor" the conflicting events, where players attending them would get a oppotinity to play in the MLG qualifier, thereby "fixing" the schedule for them to play. IEM is over "many" days, so not many people will be having problems, and it will properly only be problems one day. Assembly is a bit harder, but should be possible with some cooperation.

Okay, a few months earlier, they didn't announce it until this week, is it MLG's job to go to every other tournaments website to make sure they aren't conflicting with them? August - fall of 2011 is a month or two. Columbus Convention Center says we only have ____ weekend open, they have to take it. Blaming MLG soley over this and then people over reacting how they are dissapointed and how MLG is selfish is pretty stupid, that is the only thing that bugs me. |

Heart of the Swarm is being released by Blizzard right? The same company that is releasing Diablo 3? I think we don't have to worry about HotS this year

We wanted to move to a season-based Pro Circuit for a couple of reasons. First, it allows us to make changes to our format and game lineup easily throughout the year.

| Honestly for people still complaining about prize money this is like the TSL, expect instead of flying the top 2 to NYC they are flying the top 32. It is a huge investment by having fully paid travel expenses for everyone who qualifies. |

| really hope they reconsider the no audience in NYC.... makes absolutely no sense at all, doesn't have to be at Yankee Stadium or anything but I'm sure a small crowd is better than no crowd at all. Perhaps you can even make it something like the Homestory Cup; a much more informal event with more player-fan interactions. |

The are going to be partnering up with a lot of BarCrafts to bring you the ultimate BarCraft experience.

The arena is $26k plus all travel expenses for all attending players.
PRO Circuit Events have a stand alone prize pool and still have an open bracket.
There will be multiple Arenas this year - as in a bunch as in lots.

Anaheim was confirmed a really long time ago. In fact it was the first venue confirmed last year to return this year. So far they have confirmed Anaheim, Columbus and by accident (involuntary leak) Raleigh. |
