eh.. not true. even in 5 minutes you learn alot about what the game feels like, the atmosphere etc. Also you get to try out every char.. it definitely helped me decide which one I'll be at release |

just got the beta - quick question:
i'm 45% through the download, past the playable point, and the PLAY button is still greyed out\
is playing through the downloader not implemented yet? |

That is not very accurate. The terms used in describing the game are primarily focused on the goal of the game. That is what differentiates between Demo and Beta; the goal determines which is being used. That is why it is considered a beta and not a Demo. The tutorial aspect is more explaining the difficulty (or lack of) for the game.
The beta is very dependent on the person, whether it is fun or not. I know (including myself), who have played many hours of the beta. Granted, I have also been able to see the development of the game from beginning of beta. Playing the beta is nice in getting the experience of runes, blacksmithing, and general feel of the skills. The sort of thing that is better to understand from playing than reading online. |

You can press play while the client still downloads the other stuff, it won't affect your game play. Just wait till the play button is light up. |

Seeing at is also beta, the Download and Play system probably is not the best. It will most likely be better once the game is released. I know with WoW, I did the annual pass. I played for 7 days and by the end of it, the game still had not finished (but played it just fine). Must give Blizzard props, it is a pretty nice system. |

No more keys only invites from Blizzard. You have to have you beta profile set up in your bnet account and upload your system specs, the rest is all waiting. |

make a battle.net account and sign up for the beta opt-in and you have a chance, you don't have to have a WoW subscription (or own any blizzard games period i dont think) |
