[ 04/11/11 ] A quick Terran and Zerg theme because I'm a bit tired out from doing 'hard' programming . Let me know what you guys think. Users will be able to choose one of these in the options menu.
[ 04/11/11 ] The app is very close to beta testing stage. Most likely mid December. Please continue to support the project as much as you can
-- Hey everyone,
a while back I posted a thread asking for feedback for designing an Android Mobile App for part of my final year project.
You can read the original thread here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=269731
Well, it's been a bit over a month now and I thought it was time to show what I have so far and gain some more feedback if possible!
From now on I'll be using this thread to update all further progress on the app.
Here are a few screens:
(Transformer Prime) Stream Browser (Zerg Theme)
Streamview
(Samsung Galaxy S2) Stream Browser (Terran Theme)
Stream Browser (Zerg Theme)
240p with controls shown + Show Spoiler +
480p with controls hidden + Show Spoiler +
Keep in mind the application is still in very early stages of development and it will likely look a bit more fancy by release.
If all goes well I will be releasing the Streaming Module of the application for Beta testing early to mid December! Please let me know your initial thoughts or concerns about the application .
Thank you!

If the Android release is a success I will be releasing an iPhone version too

Will Twitch actually allow this? I know they are coming out with an app of their own soon, don't know if they will allow this to work, if they have control over that.

i'm assuming this is in the android market? if not can you post the apk file ?

The app isn't available for download just yet. I'm hoping to release a beta version of it early December

Will this work for kindle fire ? Amazon app store is a partial android app store I believe.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mind. Traffic on their website should always be welcome

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I'll do my best to make it available and compatible with all handsets. I'm currently developing it on an S2 Galaxy

based on how clumsy current stream viewers are if it works i'll be sure to check it out. Big keys to it for myself will be the search function working well, and the stream settings options actually working once you bring it up. Meaning the volume, resolution etc.

Volume and resolution both work at the moment although I get complaints from my handset when pushing the stream to 1080p (as expected of course..).
I'll do my best with the search function. Thanks for the input

this is awesome! i am eagerly anticipating its release
|
Looking forward to this, as the justin.tv app is buggy for me at times.
|
Finally an app that isn't fun for 5mins and then gone again... This can easilly be used while doing tons of things... public transportation etc etc... But I can see this take away a few hours of sleep
|
I am going to check this out at some point and see what kind of success I have with it.
Granted I am on a Samsung Transform which is a bit older now -.-
|
This is great news! My SGS2 would love this app!
|
Updated the original post with a preview of 480p. (the 240p wasn't a great representation of what the video will look like)
|
I would love this app so very much! I eagerly await the beta release in December. Keep up the good work and thanks for all of your efforts doing this.
