Joe’s take- Unless I’m remembering incorrectly, or I just received faulty information from the get go, Paul didn’t have his entire meniscus removed, but only a piece. I will ask Paul on Wednesday if I get a chance.
No conclusive evidence to show he'll be in the same position as Brandon Roy. Especially since, you know Chris Paul was actually playing basketball.
He had part of it removed, but it might be enough to be bone on bone.
2.Paul ha s a degenerative knee condition. Yes he is only 25. But his left knee is much older. Paul suffered a torn meniscus–the cartilage around the knee area that serves as a shock absorber–and underwent arthroscopic surgery last season to have the condition cleaned up. The injury stands to get worse over time, though, and players who suffer from it tend to lose cartilage to the point where their knee ultimately becomes bone-on-bone. To appreciate what that means to a player, think back to Tim Hardaway and Charlie Ward late in their careers when they struggled to even change ends and were literally dragging one leg up and down the court.
I've had a torn ACL with some torn meniscus damage that had to be "cleaned up". The doctor didn't make a big deal about cleaning it up, so it sounds like a different deal than the dreaded bone on bone never will be the same predictions (though it still isn't the same). Players tear their meniscus all the time and go through light surgery or recovery. But Chris Paul's injury sounded much worse than those cases. |

rondo is the better defender. though paul gets a lot of steals, steals are not perfect indicators of defensive ability, especially in the man-to-man defence in the nba.
rondo also is a terrible free throw shooter and doesn't have a jump shot, so... |

How does Rondo's play against Miami even matter here?. He isn't even close to the player Chris Paul is. You can argue that he is the best Point Guard defender in the NBA and at best on the same level in terms of playmaking ability but that's about it. Chris Paul is the best Point Guard in the NBA since Isaiah Thomas/Magic Johnson days.

no doubt rondo is the better athlete and defender, but you'd have to take paul anyday of the week =D |

If i were the Lakers and i had to chose between Howard and Paul, i would chose Paul, because to get Howard they would have to get a Bynum+Gasol package, whereas with CP, Odom+Bynum could be traded and bunch of other no names.
Getting both Howard and CP is impossible, regardless of what ESPN writes, cant trade Bynum to two teams =P
Better team is Kobe - CP - Gasol and some rotation guys (maybe Ariza again) than Kobe - Howard - ???? Blake???
There is no doubt that CP is getting traded in a matter of days, Warriors and Lakers are prob the favorites to land him. Would love to see him at OKC as i despise Westbrook, Durantula deserves a better PG than him. But i see CP wanting to go to a big market and big city, NY is impossible (despite what Knicks fans want you to believe) but LA is realistic

Alrite, now basketball season has begun! And wow, Chandler to Knicks is pretty crazy and makes their front court pretty intimidating now O.O
These moves will probably make Chicago go harder after a SG now, excited to see who it will be.

High NBA draft picks are HIGHLY coveted, but the late 1st rounders aren't as valuable. I don't really understand why it works that way, but I'm guessing it's that your number 1s are expected to reinvent your team and aren't as much developmental projects (except quarterbacks), while in the nba, you stink for years and keep playing the lottery until you win. Football's probably simpler to be great at, too (except quarterbacks). You can't bet your franchise by building around a random single high first round pick, but you can in the nfl. Otherwise the wolves and other perennial lottery teams would be godly.
so what you're saying is that #1 pick overall isn't as much of a gamble in the NFL as it is in the NBA? i can kinda get that.
In the past, due to cap ramifications, #1 pick in the NFL was a much bigger gamble because if they suck, you're fucked due to the cap hit
