Wade and Lebron are not "too similar". They are both elite wings but they don't even score in the same ways.
If the current offense makes Bosh worse, then why would you add Dwight Howard to it? Bosh already plays in the high post, more than he did in Toronto so moving him away from the basket...would be doing the same thing Miami already does.
I still don't see why you would think replacing Lebron with an outside shooter would just magically make them more efficient. Where are all those additional points on that efficiency, playmakng and foul drawing going to come from? Do you have any numbers to help prove this will work?

But honestly, a lineup of PG, Kobe, Ariza, Pau, Howard would be just as likely to win the title as PG, TMac, Ariza, Pau, Howard. I really don't think either team is significantly worse than the other. TMac and Kobe are/were both awesome players and would work so well with 2011 version Dwight. Do you think either team would be significantly weaker?
The point I'm getting at is you'd have 2 in their primes wings that can do just about anything you need in T-Mac and Kobe. Why are you dropping one of them for Dwight Howard when you know the problem isn't with them, but with the rest of the roster? Dwight isn't a better player than either of them so you'd be making a lateral move. Which begs the question - what exactly are you getting from him that will be significantly better if you drop Kobe?Last edit: 2011-12-01 15:50:03 |

Inside scoring? Defence?
Dwight gives you a much better inside presence that guys like LBJ, Kobe, TMac can't offer. Maybe Bosh is enough of an inside presence for the Heat, but I don't see them being any worse by doing the trade.
Bit of a lateral move like you say, but I still think they'd be better. Just because
Here's a more interesting proposition. Somebody put this forward on a forum I also frequent:
Bucks trade: Bogut, Jennings, Delfino, 2012 1st round pick. Heat trade: LBJ + filler.
Laugh it off or entertain it? It looks somewhat silly given how much better LBJ is than any other player in the trade, but is it so silly? Would it put Miami over the top?Last edit: 2011-12-01 16:04:03 |

Entertain it because of Bogut. Then seriously ask yourself 3 questions:
Will Bogut go back to his pre-injury form offensively?
Is Brandon Jennings going to become an efficient scorer?
Is Carlos Delfino going to be healthy with no more concussions?
Is that "filler" we're losing excluding a healthy Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem?
Now if the answer to all of these questions are YES the final question is:
Can we win the championship NOW with this team?
I'd say it'll be a good shot but too many moving pieces have to match up well. |

RealGM has a few great poster, but there are so many trolls and morons on there. Still a fun place to read.
No where is worse than insidehoops though |

I am surprised no one has said anything of the possible amnesty cuts coming up. I am kind of excited for it, as it will allow for some changing of the player-team landscape and hopefully help to add some competitiveness (though I know it could also lead to nothing even worth talking about).
Biggest name thrown out there so far seems to B. Roy though which would be interesting.. |

If I were a GM I'd want to save my amnesty just in case I REALLY fucked something up. You only get one for the duration of the CBA. |

You can't amnesty anyone who you sign after this CBA was made.
I think you can trade for a terrible contract and amnesty that...for what reason I have no clue. |

Hmmm, didn't know that...I'd amnesty Chris Bosh for sure.

| Honestly, I don't see why Miami would rotate all that much with their roster for the upcoming season.. They made it to the finals with 6-7 players (put bluntly, but you get what I mean).. And if Haslem can stay free of injury for the entire season I think he'll do wonders for the Heat overall (atleast if he plays as nicely with the team as he did in the Heat vs. Bulls series) |

I was joking a bit, although I'm not a fan of Bosh's game, or Bosh.
I agree with you, they shouldn't do anything at all, they're a very strong team.
So I just heard on the radio that Chris Paul has demanded a trade to the Knicks. Does this make them contenders for the east crown? I think it might. |

yeah i think it would make them contenders, but i still give the edge to heats and bulls.
im wondering how much better the knicks woulda done last playoffs vs celtics w/ cp3 - surely its gotta be better than 0-4.

24.4 mpg .384 fg% 2.5 rpg 2.8 apg .9 spg .1 bpg 2.0 turnovers per game 11.7 ppg
while lebron is .479 fg% 27.7/7.1/1.7 1.7 steals, .8 blocks, 3.33 turnovers |

I would not say the Knicks with CP3 would rise to Heat levels simply because I am not a believer in any of the players in that "Big 3". Amare<Bosh, Melo<Lebron, CP3<Wade. The Knicks only legitimate argument is that their team would have more "synergy", but I am highly skeptical of any team with Amare+Melo having synergy and I am, as always, skeptical of investing heavily in the PG position. |

I doubt that Amare<Bosh. Amare is a much better finisher on the inside. Everything else is pretty much a wash.
Still, with d'antoni as coach and amare's and Melo's reluctance to defend at times i dont see them getting out of the east though. The heat are still gonna be stronger even with cp3Last edit: 2011-12-02 08:33:59 |

Just ignore this guy manloveman, Jordan > Lebron anytime
Edit: The major difference: if you'd tell Lebron about the Boogeyman, he would pretty much start to cry. If the Boogeyman was under Michaels bed, Michael would show him the tongue and dunk his head through the door.Last edit: 2011-12-02 09:08:11 |
