When comparing players, especially of different eras you need to adjust for pace, and even then quality of defenses favors later generations. That said Lebron still wouldn't be close to MJ but he still stacks up better than just about anyone.

yeah i think it would make them contenders, but i still give the edge to heats and bulls. im wondering how much better the knicks woulda done last playoffs vs celtics w/ cp3 - surely its gotta be better than 0-4.

I would not say the Knicks with CP3 would rise to Heat levels simply because I am not a believer in any of the players in that "Big 3". Amare<Bosh, Melo<Lebron, CP3<Wade. The Knicks only legitimate argument is that their team would have more "synergy", but I am highly skeptical of any team with Amare+Melo having synergy and I am, as always, skeptical of investing heavily in the PG position.

Wade+Lebron+Bosh is still a much better combination than Amar'e+Melo+CP3 though. The Miami trio is much more flexible and better on both sides of the ball. I agree that yes, individually it is true but it's not like a team with Chris Paul won't be abusing Pick n Rolls all day anyway. You might as well be asking how does Chris Bosh defend the PnR ballhandler in iso. |

Fairly well considering his job on Boozer in the playoffs (or Boozer played just terribly, which is also possible).

Well since I live in Brooklyn - yes. People do seem genuinely excited about the Nets showing up. Billionare owner + Jay-Z = people thinking you can compete with the Knicks.
As an aside though I don't generally root for teams, more so the players that play on them. |

Well managed, lot of underrated guys, not bandwagon-ish, and if they snag a great player they have the foundation to go somewhere.
Or you could root for the grizzlies, but I think their stock is overvalued right now. |

+ The cavs had rubbish management. Overpaying Moe Williams, etc. Its was like their front office was being run by Daniel Snyder, except you couldn't cut the players. You can win as the only superstar as long as management doesn't sign terrible contracts (See my boy Timmy D). Surround a superstar with quality players and a bargain price and you have a team (superstars are always a bargain anyways). |

Wha? It's the fan and media's fault players are teaming up to win chips? Puhlease. LeBron didn't give two stuffs what the media and fans thought of his legacy up to that point. He wanted to win and thought the Miami setup would give him that best opportunity. I'm sure he cares about his legacy, but to say the (very, VERY fickle) media and fans have anything to do with that is absurd.
