Finally. A proper Alien film, hopefully to re-establish the franchise after what AvP and AvP: requiem did to it. Apparently Ridley Scott is directing, which can only be a good thing in my books.
I admit i am the biggest Alien fanboy, and seeing Ridley himself finally is doing it(him and James Cameron talked about it many years ago, if they should finish the series) makes me exited
but i won't have my expectations to high, i did that with AvP, even AVP 2 xD

Ridley Scott is a god among science fiction fans, so hopefully he will do the series some justice but I'm not expecting anything less than excellent production because all of his movies are well put together.
By the way, you might want to change the title because this is not a prequel to the Alien series/franchise. It may be in the same "universe" but it isn't a prequel according to Scott. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446714/faq#.2.1.2

Awesome, love the Alien series. It'll be great to see Scott finish off the series. I hope he keeps it pretty simple. No outrageous action or too much CGI. Make it a basic story, some good suspenseful/thriller scenes and some great action and hopefully we'll have a much needed great end to the series!

Ooooooh man, I played all the AvP games and watched all the Alien and AvP movies. I even have a little standard from the scene were the predator flings the alien through the wall. Such a good franchise but horribly massacred by the AvP movies and the AvP 3 game ( so much potential T_T then console ports... RAAGH! ).
I hope this will get the original feeling of the Alien movies. But right now it's only a twinkle of light out there in the distance...

btw, is it just me or does the ship exploding in the sky (0:37) look kinda really bad cgi? i mean the rest looks pretty promising from the effort and art put into the movie, so i hope it's just because the bad q.

It's all good but the utter lack of fresh ideas in hollywood (and also games) makes me sad, everything comes in 3 parts. People are being cheap on the creative and marketing side. I guess it improves the production cost to income ratio, but it's kinda boring... :/

Ridley fell off the bandwagon a while ago with some major flops in comparison to his previous master pieces. I sincerely hope he succeeds with this film. Going by the cast, hes got all the tools he needs to make an amazing movie, I admire each and every cast member and I think he did a great job in that regard.
