| This is surprising yet awesome news I have to say. I haven't gotten a beta invite yet, but I played the other tribes games and they are classics to say the least. If you are over 14 and have never heard of the Tribes games before then shame on you. I wonder who they plan to cast the games, I never followed the Tribes competitive scene or even knew there was one. I think this will be a good fit for all those quake players looking for another game now that everyone is dropping it. |

While I am not interested in the game and have not played an FPS seriously since Goldeneye 007, I think that the addition is a good thing overall. To me this means that there are still games and companies committing to the NASL, which means that the safer it is becoming. Not only that, but the more eyes and types of people on the production means more interested and ability to improve overall. I like that the NASL is growing itself and trying to make itself into a competition, albeit a very different kind of production, to MLG. I am not saying they are the same or will be, but with MLG heading in a direction of more online stuff, they are becoming much more similar that it appears on the surface. I love the NASL and community driven projects like it. I hope it all works out and when they finally get everything together to create an excellent league, we will look back on the early seasons and be amazed at how it has grown. |

They were referring to the game as a 'promotional title'. I believe that means the tournament is being compensated to host the title, like WCG. |

| I really like Tribes but I don't see Ascend being successful unless they make some major gameplay adjustments There's a lot of problems with the game in it's current state; including how annoying hitscan weapons are, how discjumping hardly gives a boost, how projectiles are hardly affected by momentum (you can shoot yourself in the face if you're skiing fast enough). |

And shrikes. Don't forget the shrikes. As it stands right now you literally cannot shoot them down. |

Why bother? It's much cheaper to branch into a different genre than trying to match MLG or Dreamhack. Not to mention the developer is probably paying them to host the game.
We Starcraft fans are spoiled by all our awesome tournaments. I bet Tribes fans would love to have a NASL tournament. |

How is this a random game? It was vastly popular years ago and is one of the few competitive shooters coming out soon. As for a Star League, NASL is anything but a Star League. They didn't bring the best players over from Korea, their production, while better than S1 is still shit. They don't have anyone at the live finals, did you see those crowds? And there casters are meh on average, only bringing in good casters for the finals and big events. |

Love tribes. My faith in hi-rez however... They seem to be a company that licenses generic unreal engine games and milks them dry before moving on to the next with little care for the game in the meantime.
Hopefully being involved with NASL will force them to actually maintain their game. |

They should've just ditched HoN, skipped Tribes and picked up LoL if they're really wanting viewers.

| I feel as if they are rushing to get more games when they should be focusing on improving the presentation of their current games. In my opinion they should wait for tribes to come out of beta and see how it does first, and if they see that its a good game that people seem attracted to then pick it up. |
