Oh god, yes! This is what the game needed. I've been playing the beta for a while and I love it, all Tribes games were pretty good... don't dismiss it just because you've never heard of it....

Seems kinda weird to have games that aren't StarCraft in a "StarLeague" but then again it seems kinda weird to name your tournament "Pro League" when there already is one..
I can't say this is bad, since at worse I'll just be apathetic to the game, but it certainly doesn't excite me in the least either. I guess if the NASL is getting critically needed funds for this, then that's something... and who knows, maybe I'll watch this and like it. |

LoL is more popular because of it's free to play model. Had HoN been f2p from the start, things may be different.
NASL is after viewers right? Then maybe HoN and Tribes aren't the best choices. |

| Although, I will add, old Tribes fans: if you haven't played the beta, don't get too excited. This is less another full Tribes game and more of a Tribes Lite or Tribes Arena. It is better than most every other shooter out there, but still not as good as it could and should be if it were more faithful to the Tribes legacy. |

No, they're not "after" viewers. If they were, they wouldn't have started a league for eSports.
That's like wanting healthy food and going to McDonalds.
They want viewers, and Tribes/HoN will do that. Not to mention maintaining their integrity by choosing HoN over LoL. |

I nearly cheered when I saw the trailer start, I was literally crossing my fingers for this to be the game. Had to restrain myself since its 2:00am here and the whole house but me is asleep. So glad Tribes is getting some real support from esports, I was never able to fully enjoy the past games since I didn't even follow competitive BW until a couple years ago and I like the strategy of games like Tribes which has really died out of FPS games in the past decade.
I like the diversity of the NASL, HoN isn't something I usually like to watch, but I did watch a few matches and was able to enjoy them with the casters. Next we need a fighting game on NASL so all the old school casters are happy. |

Honestly this has a much better chance of being a better spectator sport if they play their cards right. While I love everything that is Tribes 2, the more focused and tighter arena approach of Ascend makes it a lot easier to follow. Been playing the heck outta the beta myself.
Current worries right now is if they fix weapon speed inheritance right now. You can currently go so fast you'll hit yourself with your own thumper shot by shooting straight forward. Weapon inheritance is the amount of speed the projectile inherits from you. I have to shoot pretty much straight forward in high speed chases to kill someone.
Another worries is the blatant OP hit scan weapons. Raider SMG can literally tear a hole through a heavy, its not hit scan, but its darn close. Assault rifle is ridiculous in the hands of players who can keep their aim on target. The only hit scan I'm ok with is the dedicated sniper whose job it is to take down the ridiculously fast light cappers. |

Tribes used to be a really fun game. If there has to be another game (I'm still yearning for an SC2 exclusive event), I'm glad they're giving a new game a chance rather than going for an established title.
I like many NASL decisions of late I have to say. They've grown so much since Season 1. |

I've never played the game, but apparently it has a really high skill ceiling and it's a fun game to play. However, from on outsider perspective watching at tribes 2 VODs it looks absolutely terrible as a spectator sport...

| yup, T2 was never a good spectator game. too prone to stalemates, and no decent observer tools. Hrez has noted that they're designing the game specifically for esports, so hopefully their spectator tools are up to scratch. |
