On another note, I kind of feel sorry for Hyvaa, especially after seeing his face when he came out of the booth to do that team cheer thing, he looked destroyed

I really feel consistency is a necessary quality to be a considered a top player. When top players come out you get the feeling that they are always going to show up and bring solid game and with ZerO this is not always the case. When he is on he is an absolute monster though. Playing well I think ZerO is as good as, maybe better, than anyone else. Talking peak skill: JD > Luxury > Calm > Zero EDIT: Am I watching an AKB movie? I knew they were big in the otaku crowd, but this yanki vibe is new to me...

If you're expecting Light, you send a fucking protoss, his worst matchup by far. Not bad (any more) but still his worst. Dear would have put up way more of a fight than that and if you're afraid his late game will suck, make him DT rush. Coach lost this game without even trying, imao.

Only JD, effOrt, and to a lesser extend; hydra, compare. I still can't believe I got him for 6 and effOrt for 5. That's just unfair. i'd say jaedong > effort = hydra > zero > soulkey but yeah, he really is top tier, kinda underrated seriously? effort wins a sloppy ZvZ vs hyvaa and beats iris and suddenly he's the 2nd best zerg in the world? effOrt was the second best zerg before he retired, and seems to be at full strength. He has looked reasonably solid in his games. Moreover his coach has said he is quite close to his past level, and Flash has mentioned that he is losing more to effOrt in practice games than he used to. While we don't have significant data to go off there doesn't seem to be much evidence to suggest effort is not at his pre-retirement level. It's a bit of a crapshoot to rank effort but since I have nothing to indicate he is worse than before I still see him as a top, if not #2, zerg. As much as I love Effort, he was only considered the #2 zerg before he retired because Zero and Calm decided to start sucking. Effort was pretty terrible before his retirement except for those 5 wins against Flash. He was 16/20 before playing FlaSh. That's not exactly what I would call terrible. He was in a little slump for about 4 or 5 months proceeding that but even during that he was still around 50% WR. Probably just a case of burnout/lost motivation and subsequent re-discovery of it.

Hyvaa changed teams, went through a slump that could be expected, and at the end of last season started seeing some success again. I don't think career stats say that much given the recent history and the fact that his role could be changed by different coaches using/approaching him differently as a player. For all we know Hyvaa has been practicing nothing but vT during the break. STX_Hyvaa hasn't been around long enough and there is far too much unknown information to say that sending him was a poor decision.
