I'm so sick of trying to get into masters with terran. It's sooooo much harder than the other races it's not even funny. Toss just does some dumbass all in and zergs just mass and amove constantly. I need to have perfect fucking micro and macro to beat their dumbass unit comps. Fucking retarded that I have to all in just to win a game. Going into a macro game as a terran is suicide. Once the other races learned that as long as they have decent macro they win, it's almost impossible to beat them. I've been stuck in top 8 diamond for months now, and I'm sick of seeing protoss/zerg players get into fucking masters because they can amove their fucking death ball.
Just venting, I'm so pissed off right now. |

I agree at this level, TvZ is a particular matchup that sucks balls. However, TvT and TvP can be won with macro easily. |

| Sometimes when I'm losing as terran I'll play as zerg for a bit to let off steam. ZvT is quite fun, but then I remember why I play terran when faced with zvz and zvp >_< |

I've been playing this game for months, and I play 3-4 hours a day on the weekdays and ~8 hours on the weekends. Saying "herp derp just play betta lololol" isn't helping me at all. |

I understand you're frustrated, but he has a point. The first thing you should do isn't to complain, but rather keep playing the game. If you've encountered these builds more than once on the ladder there's the odd chance that you aren't learning anything from your previous games. Add in the fact you're frusted when you're playing, you're mentally behind and you're already doubting your chances at winning.
Analyze your replays, play practice matches against players who will copy the all-in builds you hate. Maybe you'll learn something then. If you aren't open to criticism, there aren't many alternatives for you to take...Last edit: 2011-12-12 07:41:38 |

Don't play zerg its so frustrating. I played zerg the last 2 seasons and finally gave in last week and am playing terran now. I am enjoying SC2 so much more now that I don't have to deal with BS builds all day.
Also, the best build I have found is doing a no gas 1 rax expand into 4 rax. You can tech out of it really easily and hold pretty much any all-in with a few bunkers.
If your getting frustrated as terran dont try toss either. 2 of the matchups are fine, but for some reason 50% of your games will be PvP, which is the matchup from hell.Last edit: 2011-12-12 07:56:18 |

do you watch your own replays?
do you study and learn new builds?
do you work to perfect your mechanics?
mass gaming is perhaps the most inefficient way to improve. isolate different components of the game and practice them separately. |

Or you could just play with a mouse and a keyboard instead of a xbox controller. Terran is the timing attack race. Do timing attacks and learn to micro properly. As you play like 40 hours a week your macro should be like GM level so np. |

OP is right. Terran is the hardest race to learn between plat and high masters-gm.
That happens cause with Terran you have to be reactive in battles, you are the one that have to dodge fungals, storms and kite colossi. Plus you need to multitask more than your enemy if you are going bio.
I have played all races in gold-plat level and that's what I experienced. |

| I suppose you may be playing a race that doesn't best play up to your individual skills or habits, much as in my case but I just refuse to play anything else than terran. Terran does seem to require more micro than the other races (though probably other races actually benefit more from having good micro), as well as perhaps reliance on good execution, reaction to scouting and whatever. But there are Terran players who play so well in their brackets that they give other races the impression of Terran being "imba". I've heard "Terran imba" myself (though I'm a low level player) and also been steamrolled by other Terrans, sometimes in brutal ways. |
