Very likely because the RMAH is region-locked, Blizzard retains the ability to disable it in whatever regions they please. It's unlikely this issue would have a lasting effect on the game's release in the region. It likely would affect only what features the Korean region gets access to.

This.
It won't affect the release date, the only thing it will affect is the timeline of Korea's access to the RMAH.

Im hoping it affects Blizzards announcement of the release date because I am hanging on to the idea of a Jan 17th release date. Yet deep down I figure that if the release was that close they would have announced it by now.

would love a jan 17th release date but lettuce be reality here...
|
I think it would be lucky to get a release by March at this point. :-(

I've encountered a handful of pretty big bugs so far in the beta, and thats only such a small portion of the game, jan 17th is just not going to happen

Got a lot of bugs with the RMAH but none in games.... The game felt pretty solid.

I didn't get any bugs in game during my time playing, nor did anyone I know. I can easily see January being a release date, however the reason they haven't given a release date is because they themselves don't know when its going to be released so it's anyone's guess right now.

it wont effect release . Blizz always has to deal with the korea issue and they do it effectively... even if it is delaying the game for them like in china, i believe, they delayed wrath by loads etc

Bashiok just posted a decently long response to folks asking for a release date :
1) It's not ready 2) No outside factors are holding it up 3) Large influx of new invites are coming 4) Working on critical systems that will impact your core experience in the game

I hope they get everything right this release and not a "where are the chatrooms" again.

Hey guys, I'm a korean and i'm waiting for the release of D3 and i came across this forum. My korean isn't perfect but i'll try to sum up everything from the korean article.
Title: Diablo 3, translation into korean 90% completed, waiting for feedback.
Summary: Like the title says, the translation from english to korean is 90%. Blizzard Korea has announced that the progress is going smoothly and is in the final stage of completion. Their aim is to make sure that koreans will be able to experience diablo 3 in the translated state the same way as Americans (english speaking/native) would have in english. Currently they are focusing on the audio of NPC, monsters, quest, class and even items and skills (different sound when putting it on? lol).
They are also working on font that will fit in the environment of D3 and something that people are farmiliar with.
It goes on about how in WOW and SC2 the translation aspect was critical to not lose important information of quests. New words like "Bul-gom" and "sa-shin" arose which were popular among korean gamers.
After the primary translation is complete they will look at the feedback and further adjust their work.
With the newly released video of D3 they dubbed the voices in korean which was proposed by many koreans.
Well thats it guys. I didn't translate it word for word but thats roughly what they are saying.

You know one thing I never understood was why Korean and Chinese numbers (1234567890) are of a different font than the English and other fonts.
Is it just because a font is a standardized thing based on operating system?
|
the number is different because the font type changes when you change from english to korean/chinese. So on microsoft word for example if i use english default font it is Calibri (body) 11 but if i change it to korean by pushing the english/korean key (on korean keyboards) the font changes to body asian 11 so hence the number looks different.
i guess its just that the default of fonts differ depending on the software/program you use.

You don't need blue confirmation to see why the game isn't being released or why a release date hasn't been posted. The game obviously isn't finished.
They're changing things left and right. Implementing new features. Look and feel is changing. What I think Bashiok is referring to when he says critical systems, is the combat system. They tried it one way before with the animation canceling. Then they removed it only to replace it with something else, that I really can't see or sense in the beta.

Really, because it's gambling, many game FROM Korea, like MapleStory have stuff you buy from real cash that give you random items...
