Hi, I am kind of new to the TL community, even though I have been watching streams here for awhile. But I got one question, is there anyone here who does martial arts? I have been doing Taekwondo for half a year now, (sux, I know) and I think it is awesome, I have always wanted to do some kind of kickboxing or karate, but Taekwondo fitted me very nicely.
Is there anyone else here who does Martial arts? |

I've been doing Judo for a few years. It's a shame; since a lot of my friends recently left for different universities, I'm the last member of the adult class. It's ok though, I occasionally go to another club that's larger, gives me a challenge
I also boxed for about a month, a couple of years ago. I'd like to start MMA at some point, but I won't lol. |

| I practice martial arts. I have done small amounts of Karate, Aikido, and work mainly in Boxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I have competed in local Tournaments around the state in both Grappling and also train in MMA at the amateur level. |

| Boxing first, then Muay Thai for me, was doing it for the last few years. Stopped in 2011, due to a lot of work, but I plan to resume next year. Kick-boxing turned out to be my passion, can't wait to get back into the gym. |

I was a amateur boxer in Canada (4-2) and practiced Jiujitsu and Kick boxing for a number of years. The 9-5 made me stop, work sucks... 2012 I will start training again, there is a state of mind that come with the training that I miss so much |

I used to do Tae Kwon Do for a few years. Won a bunch of tournaments and got my black belt. I stopped cause everyone I trained with were older so they went off to university and it got pretty boring by myself. When I get stronger, I might pick it back up if I find a good gym or start soccer if I can't. |

I take a local Hwa Rang Do class, it's a lot of fun :D The guys who run the class are also black belts in Judo and have a TON of experience in it. And since it's a community thing (not their jobs) it's really cheap and they try to make sure you're the best you can be. Been doing it for 8 years now |

| I did ITF Taekwondo for about 4 years and then switched to muay thai and did that for about 1.5 years. It was a good switch imo. |

big time brazilian jiu jitsu junkie here, compete locally/nationally as much as possible (usually taking 1st/2nd in intermediate divisions)
i find being focused on martial arts help your discipline and that its a nice change from my very static lifestyle (office job/gaming a lot)
i've also done kickboxing/boxing and plan to fight mma in the next year, really just enjoy competing! |

I used to be into Historical European Martials Arts for several years, trained in dagger and longsword as taught by the historical German master swordsmen Liechtenhouwer and Talhoffer, but I've since moved to another city. Trying to found an archery society on campus though. |

Grappling (BJJ, gi and no-gi). It's the only martial art I've ever been interested in, striking arts are boring for me.
I've done a fair share of MMA too but it's become a bit too centered on the standup for me to really care anymore. |

| Has anyone here ever heard of "systema," a Russian fighting system? I am curious to try to learn how to fight and I heard that this is the most practical and effective. |
