I think it's nice that you point out where players are from but I think it would be quite enough if you only did this like once a matchup. Instead you quite often say "the swedish player" "the swedish zerg" etc. etc. and for some weird reason this annoys me. I don't know, it's probably just me but I'd prefer it if you said it less. Other than that I think you have quite improved from when I first saw you so keep it up
This. Constant reiterations of what team/country they're from, it just gets kind of irritating. Once would suffice.
Another small thing that bothers me is something else he says constantly. It feels like everytime a battle is about to happen, someone's going for something unexpected like DTs, etc.. He feels the need to say "ladies and gentleman", every single time. Same for Moletrap, honestly. I can see it occasionally, sure. But saying it so much is pretty irritating. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. Aside from those little things, I like his casting. He could stay at GOM and I wouldn't have any big complaints. |

Kal's doing well atm and has a good game overview, but I think his combat-commentating gets repetitive and abuses the words "yooonitz" and "trying to take down this one [insert building])" too much.
The last phrase gets annoying in the "we cannot hold"-kind of way when there's actually not even anything defending the beseiged, for example, Nexus. Khaldor often makes it sound like there's way more effort involved for the attacker than there actually is, from my point of view.
Moreover, there's too little insight and enthusiasm during commentating of midfield-fights. We only get to know that someone is "losing so many yoooonitz", which is always going to be the case. Some short analyzing comment of what happened would be spot on.
Criticism aside, Khaldor's doing an awesome overall job atm. I'm glad he got to cast the foreigner matches today! Keep up the good work. |

Today was good casting, If I were to be really picky it would be your bias towards Morrow in the Morrow vs Maru series, I know he's one of few foreigners even presently known in korea but I felt like your bias was showing so much that Wolf was the only one speaking about Maru's gameplay who did some really nice timings. I think you have to be more Impartial even if you have a clear favourite, keep that to yourself or at least even it out with the positive's of the foreigners opponent, otherwise you might aswell just put it on Morrow's camera view and watch his first person cause that is what it feels like when you just talk about one of the two players.
Other than that, I enjoyed what I managed to see at Code A today, GJ!Last edit: 2012-02-14 22:21:29 |

I have a few criticisms:
The voice pitching higher and higher when you get excited makes me absolutely cringe. I don't mind if you get a little louder, but the voice pitch is just very jarring to me. I think in particular tasteless does this very well.
Pick up more idioms and work on repeating less of them. I know it's not your native language, but this isn't impossible to do if you focus on it.
Try to cast less with Moletrap if you can help it. You two have zero chemistry and it makes the casts way more awkward than they have to be. That's not your fault, it's just something I believe you should be told.

one thing that annoys me quite a lot (although it has gotten better over the last 2 months):
please stop repeating yourself. you did it A LOT, and you still occasionally do it. e.g. the beginning of a sentence twice... "He is going to... going to... drop now" or sth like that.
other than that I enjoy the commentary. |

Hey Khaldor,
good job in today's Code A! Your best performance, though, was with Sheth, especially the event one day before the Idra vs Alive showmatch (I can't remember which it was, maybe KSL). You seem to know the game very well, I assume your own play is not too shabby either.
Best regards from Karlsruhe |

Khaldor!
I like how you don't hide your opinion, or try to be 'nice' about when a player makes mistakes.
It's nice and refreshing :D
Sometimes I even prefer to hear your german(?) casts, because your voice flows well to match the pace of the game. it's similar to watching korean bw casters, you can enjoy the cast without knowing the language!!

I feel like you're being way too judgemental (notice I didn't use the word critical).
By all means point out the mistakes the players make but the way you do it is extremely annoying.
Things like "why WHY would he do that???" "that was a HUGE mistake" are what I mean.
starcraft 2 is a game of mistakes and they will be made even if the players try their hardest. On top, for every mistake they make, there must be a hundred things they do right.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that starcraft 2 is a difficult game and the players in the GSL are the best of best so I think you should cut them some slack.
You could say things like "It would have been much better for player X if he did Y" "I hope I don't see the same mistake next time they play"
Just my 2 cents

I've watched all the games cast by Khaldor for the GSL sof ar I think he's doing a pretty good job. The only SC2 commentator I actually look forward to hearing is Artosis, though, so I'm pretty picky, lol. I don't really have any constructive criticism.
My only insight would be I enjoy the casts much more once things get going.
Early on with not much happening its sort of like casting baseball...take a page from tastosis and don't worry about talking about the game so much at that point. I do like the fact Khaldor usually has something prepared to say about each player or the match but after that things don't flow too well after that until there is something worth talking about in game.
Sometimes the guess what build he is going to do game is dull even with the excited "he took a gas!". This is true of all SC2 casters though. Speculation gets tiresome. Like that baseball, its more interesting to say that pitch was a fastball rather than try to guess the next pitch with every batter.
Unless its interesting analysis just entertain us until the point something happens... "interesting story, lively banter....he put down a robo!".... rather than "he took his second gas so he could be going blink stalkers, dts, or stargate, or robo, or wants a lot of sentries to expand, or any other tech build in the game, or my pet build THE XXXXX....blah blah blah blah.....oh, he he put down a robo." But if you analyze things relative to other games what the opponent might be thinking, or what you've seen in the past its more interesting. Anyway, that wasn't really Khaldor specific, lol. Khaldor is doing well, I think. |

| I noticed in tonights cast you criticized the players play. I dont watch the GSL a lot but it is more exciting when you say when a player is doing good/doing right. These folks that are playing are progamers. |

Khaldor should pick his role with moletrap more clearly.
He should be doing the analysis of strategy and higher level things and let moletrap do the shouting / pointing out individual small mistakes. His great strength is on the upper level, and whilst he isn't strictly worse than moletrap at explaining the small little things, he isn't better than moletrap either. Role up and roll and it'll be all very good. |

Progamers are people, people make mistakes. I think it's fine when mistakes are pointed out. Likewise, if they make smart / cool moves this should be hyped. Only highlighting the positive moves is not really fair, ignoring a player's mistakes is something I don't agree with at all. |

I'm sure I will be flamed for this, but I must say it. First of all I am not saying this to try to be an asshole or anything I am truly trying to help your casting. I will start with the things that bug me the most. You tend to talk over everyone you cast with, especially in times of action. You are always talking over wolf when I am watching the GSL and he doesn't ever get to say much until you are finally done with your rant (I say rant for lack of better word). Another thing, that many people have already said, is when you raise your voice your pitch goes up like crazy. I am not even sure if you play the game at all from your casts, and I am saying that because it just doesn't seem like you are very analytical. When you are analyzing or making a prediction of a game you are often wrong or not very close. To sum everything up: A lot of my friends, and I, mute the stream when you're casting.
A lot of these problems can be fixed by practice and playing the game a little more to get a better understanding of it. Again I know that this sounds a little harsh, but I'm sure as you know you can either get pissed off and call me a faggot or you can take what I have said and use it in a constructive way. I hope to see how you are doing in the future.

Aside from the sometimes interrupting Wolf, I completely disagree. I'd say Khaldor is one of my favorite casters. I always make sure to watch events Khaldor is casting. I also think that Khaldor + Wolf is definitely my favorite combo ^^
Keep up the great work, Khaldor, I've really been enjoying your casts lately! |

I'm pretty sure Khaldor is master league in north america and was masters in europe, he's like plat in KR or something.. so he must have a decent understanding of the game. Ditto towards the other comments |

| Well if he is masters on NA and Plat on korean then I was mistaken, It still doesn't change the fact that a lot of the time it seems like most of his predictions are wrong when he casts. Once again, I want to clarify that I am not trying to be a douche, I know I sound like one, but I'm really not.. |

| i like the way khaldor calls out players. it is real talk and he vocalizes the frustrations higher level players (the ones who understand the game on a decent level) feel when watching players make mistakes. it doesnt take away from the feeling of their high skill level but it helps show the difference between top top players and top players. it is nice to hear that instead of the tastosis style of praising everyone for being god-like. |
