we're 1 : 1 vs clg and both games were streamed
idk if dig streams thier games or not but we lost one and won one today
and with goose we havent lost to them yet in season 2 so i guess coincidence
we 2:0'd startale infront of a 500 live audience a few days back, our team has no problems with playing front of an audience be it online or offline |

Well, the advantage that not smartcasting smite has is that you can see the exact range if you are trying to steal something. Not to mention it really doesnt matter if it is faster or not- you likely already have the button pressed long before the time comes to smite. I find the range to be very helpful. Jungle is my most played role but being at the VERY max range can be a huge benefit. Plus for important spells like that the control of a selected click is very beneficial. Could you imagine how pissed you would be if you accidentally smited a yorick ghoul instead of baron or dragon?
That's why you bind normal cast to shift  I like smart cast because if you have to burst something with all your abilities you can spam them supa fast
Personally, I switch up my smartcasts each game depending on the character. Shyv- smartcast e, regular cast ulti. GP- Smarcast q, regular ulti. Graves- smartcast qwr, regular e, for example. My summoners are always regular cast though.
I have my qwer as normal casts and asdf as smart casts. It works really nice |

That'd be really awkward. I use all four of those keys already.
My set up is generally smartcast for targeted spammy abilities and regular qwe for skillshots, with shift+key for smartcasting them. I would maybe use shift + letter for normal casting targeted abilities, but you can't do it in the client and I'm not about to edit the file after every single game. |

Interesting, I'm quite the opposite, I smart-cast most skill shots and normal cast targeted abilities, with some exceptions of course.
For example:
Brand- SmartCast QWR, Normal cast E
Xerath- SmartCast QR, Normal Cast E
Also smartcast most line nukes e.g. Ahri Q, Kennen Q, Morg Q |

I mostly use smartcast unless I'm uncomfortable with the range, often if its a spell I don't use much or a character I'm new to, or something I really want to be sure of the range/not miscast (ultimates usually, notably fiddle/malph ults). I'd have an easier time pressing alt with my thumb personnally, but perhaps I'm not placing my hands right on the keyboard.
I started smartcasting some stuff recently, notably Gragas' and Janna's Q. I wouldn't feel comfortable trying with stuff like Morg Q, or spells that you want to place precisely like her W. |

It takes <20 seconds and you do it while walking to whichever tower you're going to AFK at waiting for things to spawn. |

| I use different binds for every character. Ezreal, vayne, graves I smartcast E. Pantheon I smartcast Q, W. Most mage q spams I smartcast. I don't smartcast any skillshots. |
