Just spotted this today, new game in development. Another resource gathering/sandbox building game. Looks like it's in its infant stages but this reveal video looks pretty sweet. People have already started crying 'minecraft clone' but it's more of an RTS as you don't just control one character.
I'll definitely be watching out for this game and looking forward to some fun fort vs fort gameplay with friends.
Looks cool. I like the RTS-style resource gathering and management, as well as progressive work through workers rather than self-building. They didn't showcase any combat though, which is a shame as I'm curious about that part - one of the big losses of Minecraft is the pointlessness of building aside from the joy of building itself. If this game manages to pull off some Dwarf Fortress-type sieges and actually interesting PVP gameplay, I can imagine it eating a ton of my time.

Very interesting game, however as others have said i think whats going to determine the lasting power of the game is going to be how combat actually works.

Just saw on facebook that they (Sauropod studios) had opened their forum. Haven't checked it out yet since my work computer's terrible and the forum's not as performance friendly as TL, but hopefully it'll contain more insightful info on gameplay mechanics and combat/PVP.

This game needs less hype. Incomplete game hype is the dumbest thing. I advocate not even looking at games until a reasonable version is out.
I've had too many trysts with svelte ladies who never put out like I expected and then eventually died off of starvation. With more experience under my belt, I learned to go after the mature, thick ones who have been around (for a while, too).

Looks fun. I too like the concept. I hope it isn't easy to do that much dmg to a castle with explosives. He said there were more inside so i'm hoping that was a lot of barrels b/c that made MASSSSSIVE dmg.

They set their goal at $80k and reached it in less than 5 hours, as of right now they're up to $165k in less than 1 day.
This sounds very exciting, and since they set their goal so low and reached in in the first day they are guaranteed to get the money, which means you don't have to give money hoping that maybe they'll reach some huge goal.
I'm going to guess they get around a million before the kickstarter's done. I gave the kickstarter link to a couple of my before-then uninitiated friends the instant it went live and they both pledged. I'm about to make my own pledge now.
Love that it wont be too long before I actually get to construct me some castles!

I'm thinking of pledging, but the wording confuses me: "Get the original PROTOTYPE soon after the Kickstarter is over! You also get the BETA at a pre-release price with free updates for life and get your name in the final game. (see reward above)"
Does this mean you get the prototype, and when the beta is released you get it by paying a pre-release price at that point? Or does it mean your pledge counts as a pre-release price for the beta?

From the kickstarter page
UPDATE July 28th - 5pm : CLARIFICATION - After a large amount of questions regarding the first reward, we'd like to clarify that for 15$ you OWN the game! You will never need to pay anything ever again. Unfortunately, we cannot reformulate the reward description.
