I have to say I miss the old non-bot games. I pretty much never play with anyone but (NEW) or low ranking people anymore and when I play with several friends they just always end up on the opposing team. A lot of the times
Like I've said before, the old system allowed us to pick out of more than 10 players and captains often ensured that teams are balanced and that you're playing with at least some people you know. Explaining to half your team what they should be building, how they should be skilling and where they should go now is only fun for so long, it feels like I can't really enjoy coordinated games anymore.
I don't think I'm the only person that holds such thoughts, either. |

Could we implement a first warning system? There are a couple guys who act like 12 year olds, but their play is usually fine.
They just trash talk allies and opponents when they get kills or lose, not banworthy by any means but being a repeated offender in this kind of stuff is really annoying when you're in a bad streak. |

| You can do captains mode, but the issue is that it's the first 10 people to join that get put in a game. I'm winning most of my games as-is, so if I captained against someone with a bunch of friends joining, I'd just play with friends and the games would be even more stacked... |

I just stoped playing any inhouses after few irc-bot games. It is just another pub with a captains mode. And it is not better than average pub...

the flaming is getting out of control. Even when im asking people to stop harrassing me or if i have a bad early game (being asked to solo mid as anti-mage and then blamed for the lost 40 minutes later viciously in chat).
Players like implusive and poon attacking and then even high ranking players like blitz attacking me becasue one time i didnt go vangard first on viper (still won the game mind you).
Or if i have doom and i dont get scourthed earth maxed first and instead chose to go level death getting harrassed by players like fannypahk. its getting out of control and they feel like they are excused from the code of conduct present in almost all things related to team liquid. |

| You guys should have expected this to happen when reverting to the old school style of getting these games together. While it was probably a lot of work and I think the people who set this up deserve a lot of praise, it seems counter intuitive and should be solved in the game by Valve (yeah right like they'll listen to us right?). But maybe we can ask them to give us better tools in the game rather than using the bot, having things like rep,. rating systems and a lot of other things that just don't sit well with a lot of players for a lot of reasons. Bottom line is that I think it split the community up no matter how you argue it. |

I have a question - is there a way for me to cast the IH games still? Like if I go in and sit in a broadcaster slot of a random game getting the pw from irc, is that fine?
I'll ask permission of the people in the game, of course. I just miss doing casting. I'll probably do some later tonight if it's ok.

Also, a tier system is probably the best way to handle the skill complaints, ie have the default games be tier 1, have a tier 2 that requires 50% trueskill rating or higher or something to start or join, and a certain number of games played. Trouble with this is there haven't been enough games for the trueskill system to be reliable, I also don't know if the bot could handle it.
The OKIHL for Hon used this system but required vouching for tier 2, the issue was that they limited the # of possible captains greatly as well.Last edit: 2012-01-15 08:38:40 |
