My fav combo:
1) Shin ramen 2) fish/beef/cuttlefish balls 3) Egg 4) bit of onion
Or I buy those chinese pork+chive dumplings and cook those 50% done then I add the ramen and so forth. Then you buy the dumpling sauce as well... epic. Gonna go restock on ramen and dumplings after work today. |

1. Cook noodles as usual in boiling water. 2. Transfer to bowl when done. 3. Pour out almost all the water/broth from the bowl. Leave maybe 1 tablespoon or so. 4. Add seasoning, and mix the noodles! 5. Results in most of the seasoning flavour straight on the noodles instead of mixed with broth. 6. Add other stuff as you see fit. I sometimes add a pan-fried egg, if I'm not feeling lazy.
Regarding the high sodium intake, I tend to only use about 40-50% of the bag that comes with it, sometimes less. The entire bag makes it waaaay too salty.
I always prepare it this way (I mean, using the whole bag), do you think it's unhealthy? I mean I also sometimes eat some onion, leek and stuff but most of the time I only pour the bag onto the noodles without any soup/water.Last edit: 2012-09-03 23:38:54 |

| The recommended salt intake is around 1500mg daily if memory serves and I'm too lazy to look it up atm but its on the internet if your're interested enough. That is around the whole bag of the instant ramen seasoning here in the US. |

Most of the time I will prepare it on a stove with a pot. Almost always I add olive oil, paprika spice, cayenne pepper (or Jalapenos/some other spicy thing in the same range), onion, the regular ramen seasoning (most often beef, chicken or oriental), dried Swedish mushrooms, and some other random spices, such as chili (or whatever the hell I find in said kitchen). Weirdly, I cook it for a really long time, usually long enough to force me to add more water due to the evaporation of the initial supply. When done, I do not actually drain the noodles--dat sauce 2good |

| I've been missing Shin Ramyun and have been eating Maruchan with a dose of Sriracha and most importantly two slices of Kraft processed cheese. The cheese melts onto the top of the noodles and makes the broth worth terribly good. |
