they update my shipping to estimated 2 day or so with the fedex tracking. so awesome right? i have my last school thing over today at noon and get to come home to my brand new monitor. but no, fedex decides they want to try to deliver at 10:30 am when no one is ever home, and they don't leave it b/c it's sig required. i call at 1 to have them leave it at the office so i can go pick it up as they should have plenty of time since it's still early. but of course that won't work since it makes too much sense. i have the option for them to take it to the fedex office for me to pick up on monday or try to rediliver monday. freaking a man... freaking a. i get to spend all weekend playing starcraft now that finals are over knowing my new monitor is chilling out in some crappy, hot, and humid warehouse somewhere.

Would anyone here have it and could give me some feedback on it?

I've used it before at a friend's place to test the 3D out. Its a pretty typical 120hz screen so good for gaming. Its also one of the few that has height adjustment, which I think is absolutely essential for expensive TN screens (refer to viewing angle picture). Stock settings are rather poor but that's what you expect from a gaming monitor. You probably won't notice unless you really try go looking for them. Also, its using a matte coating so if you hate matte coatings, don't get it. Lots of inputs and scaling too; the other features are kind of useless however since they're locked to specific presets and settings. They do kind of work but I wouldn't bother using them though. So sparknotes if you don't want to dig through reviews: + Show Spoiler [Size of pictures] + Response: Note: AMA is BenQ's pixel response booster. Actually pretty good. Not as good as the Samsungs but a billion times better than the BenQ XL2410. Contrast: 900:1 to around 1000:1. So its pretty typical and meets the quoted specs. Ignore the dynamic contrast ratio because dynamic contrast never works properly. Black point hovers between 0.15 (0% brightness) and 0.4 (100% brightness) depending on backlight brightness. Lower the backlight brightness, the better your black depth. Viewing angles: Absolutely trash but its what you expect. Height adjustment can solve most of your issues. Input lag: 6-8ms so its lower than the Samsung's, which hover around 10-12ms. TFT Central's results are wrong. Prad.de's results are the ones you should trust since they have proper equipment. Other people have tested the input lag and hasn't exceeded 10ms either so I have no idea what TFT Central did. This should be a pretty good user review though its not completed yet. He should actually test the 3D settings and offer from recommended settings to minimize stuff like crosstalking. Keep in mind the user really, really hates matte screens so don't take his complaints about image quality too seriously. You can also look for Prad.de and TFTCentral as well since they actually test the monitor properly. I'm convinced TFTCentral is wrong since no one, including Prad.de who have proper multi-thousand dollar oscilloscopes to test input lag, has measured input lag as high as them.

Lol just be glad your monitor did not get stolen in the mail. I had ordered a 24' monitor last year but it got "lost" in delivery. I had no insurance on the delivery so I had to buy anothet monitor at full price... Fuck!

Now I'm switching to the AOC 919Vz below, a smaller monitor but least its 4:3. Mind you, it isn't cheap at $170-$180 and only marginally competitive to the specs of current widescreens now. I still love the square over the rectangle....

Edit: Yeah I hope you didn't buy that. Because its an ancient 1280 x 1024 TN monitor that will 100% fail to meet any of the specs it provides. If you must have 4:3 support, just get a monitor that can scale it.

If you've read the OP, specs don't matter. Near 100% of monitors miss their rated specs by a country mile. They give you an idea of what technology it uses...that's about it. Chances are you are going to hate the shit out of that screen since you are a CRT user. Edit: Yeah I hope you didn't buy that. I've spent a lot of time trying to understand the specs and to me it sounded like a decent screen... I hope at least it does live up to the specs cause I've already bought it.

First things first: specsheets are fairly useless. The reason behind this is the majority of the time, it is always false especially after proper calibration. The three common misleading specs are generally contrast ratio, dynamic contrast ratio, and response time. No manufacturer ever mentions anything about input lag. The most specsheets can do is give you an idea of the technologies used. Like if they suggest 1000:1 contrast ratio, its definitely not using a VA panel; likewise if they don't specify 178/178 degree viewing angles, it is definitely using a TN panel. If you had bought a S-PVA or S-IPS 4:3 monitor, you'd get away with a pretty decent to great monitor but this is neither. Its a $180 TN monitor beyond its use-by date. I don't know why you'd buy something rare like this without asking someone whether its good or not.

Any opinions on this monitor? I'm not really desperate for a new one, but the price is low and the size is right for my desk/needs. Is it worth the price? I can't find any reviews online.
