| Should never feel entitled to having someone else buy you a courier/wards though. Just because you pick a mid hero does not mean someone is required to buy you items. People wanna play your own game. Sure, if people want to win they will help out their mid hero but sometimes they just want to play lich and nuke some bitches. |

A solo mid might very well lose his lane because of shitty starting items since he had to buy a courier. A support is barely affected.
Solo mids who whine a ton because no one buys a courier might be annoying... but at least they are right, the supports who fail at buying the courier are the idiots. |

Problem with buying courier when not playing support is that people will pigeonhole you into that role, whether you like it or not. When I'm playing mid and buy the courier because nobody else does, I'm also the one who upgrades it, and when I ask for wards I get "buy them yourself, you're support idiot" as a response.

I think this is a cop out argument. I enjoy playing solo mid as it is a pure skill based 1v1 fight. I never felt that I win or lose this fight by having an extra mantle of intelligence or equivalent, as that is the only thing you sacrifice when you buy yourself a courier. What is more important is to have that courier upgraded by someone else, because that costs a bit more money, but then again this is not a priority for you on mid if you manage to get the advantage on the lane and control runes well. Basically, it comes down to skill, so no reason to blame that poor nuking lich if you are not being able to outplay the other guy

Get seed vs a 4man stack it ap. 4 times random = 1k gold advantage. They get roaming heros. First blood. 2 more kills. Seeker with pms and cb wins mid with gank support easy. Games snowballed out of control. 21 -1 in 10 mins :/

| One thing that is more likely to cause you to lose mid than the +3 stats/one regen item you're missing from buying courier is support buying it and someone using it when you need bottle/boots/salve to stay in your lane or secure a kill. Just buy it yourself. |

Why do people say BH is a bad hero (especially vs riki like they did earlier)? BH is really sick if the other team doesn't coordinate properly.
Heck, the only games I won vs BH are the ones where I carried gem (on heroes like Druid or Brewmaster), otherwise we always got roflstomped.
Unless you have a considerable amount of stuns, it's really hard to counter him in mid game. Passive + Invi + some crap item such as bfury will give him huge always-rely-on crits. He takes down support heroes soooooo fast, all he has to do is wait for them to cast the disable and then whack them 3 times over the head.
Now, I'm not saying he's a good team hero, but in public games I rarely met people who bought gem/dust/sentry wards more than once. They just fking refuse to do it, even if they do buy obs. wards, and we lose the kill 4 out of 5 times.
And then you see 35min bh with bfury/mkb/vlads/treads that just 2-hits 2 or 3 members of your team who were too busy farming their idiotic items to actually help gang the BH.
Either way, my point was, I'll pick BH over Riki anytime. With normal amounts of farm, BH can stay invi all the time too, but he has track which means riki is pretty much screwed unless he carries gem.Last edit: 2012-07-02 19:02:35 |

Agree. experienced pub players know when to buy ward for the team regardless what role he is playing. I flamed so hard on the gyro who constantly banking at least 900gold while i was rushing hex (just need the last 2700wand, it was a tough game) but delayed severely by getting alot of ward/dust/gem (got my hex at 50mins and gg straight away, which could be done if i got it 20mins earlier). I almost always buy ward as a carry (especially AM or void who always needs some farm in jungle) if no one did that, and sometimes the semi/support feel ashamed of that and thus buy some wards afterwards xD |

That's true, but you can do 3 branches + salve + tangoes + courier which is perfectly fine for all ranged mid heroes. I suppose a melee hero will suffer if he needs the stout shield. |

that drives me freaking crazy. One time some CM had a fucking +3 str glove delivered via courier (I have no idea why) while my bottle was in the courier and she just stood there spamming the hotkey for delivery so I couldnt get my bottle mid.
