| every item is extremely important when going mid. if you go up against a hero who got random gold when you bought a courier with picking gold you're pretty much fucked unless it's an extremely favourable lane. +3 damage means something when you're fighting for last hits. 30hp means something when the roaming sk comes to gank you |

Sometimes when you are solo queuing and your teammates are dunces you have to make a choice between coming to mid lane with decent items and having a courier. in those situations I will always buy a courier rather then go mid lane with proper items, the courier is just too important.Last edit: 2012-07-02 22:41:55 |

That kind of small thing mid is only important in matchups of very close skill level or competitive games. In the average pub it makes no difference. What makes more of a difference is what hero you are playing and what hero they're playing. If you're playing a repick courier-buying sniper with some trashy 4 branch build and doing 40 damage against someone with 60+ starting base damage thats when things matter. Hero matchup >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> starting items.
I random every game and if I really hate what I got then I'll repick mid and go with 5 branches and a tango. Gets a relatively fast bottle, 5 to stats, but it never makes enough of a difference that it prevents me from getting the bottle. Even if there is a significant difference in damage and skill at a certain skill level you become good enough to set up SOME last hits no matter how badly you're getting owned.

| Just played a game where i was mid invoker vs tiny.... i completely dominated the lane(exort op) tiny goes to gank once, gets a kill even though i pinged it and called him missing.... so our luna and silencer who were top lane just quit, sit at their tower and don't move for 20 mins, just yelling shit on the mic how we already threw the game because I wasn't ganking( this is like 5 mins in) and say theyre not going to buy anymore items for the rest of the game. They feed the courier to the other team twice and laugh on the mic about how theyre going to get me banned, while yelling in all chat thats in me doing it and to report me...... I love the people who play this game so much. |

Just finished a game with a Luna who kept insisting treads+wraith bands was better than phase+force staff on Windrunner.
We lost, but she had the highest K/D...it was weird. |

I get death prophet... denied mid bloodseeker and got 3 kills from him. Then he finally got lvl 6 and fed on my noob teammates to high heaven.
Veno mindlessly spams wards, never even ventures out to farm even a tiny bit.

Currently in a game with an OD, who went orb->AI, and constantly using orb for harassment, so in the end he ran out of mana and we died instead of getting 2 kills ourselves... I am lina btw, which would be an awesome combo, but whatever. When I asked him: "do you realize you are using 100 mana to do 18 damage" he didn't answer.... Probably didn't realize...

I can't believe people fail at playing OD. IMO, he's one of the most straightfoward carries in the game and I would recommend him to pretty much any newb. Assuming your not playing in some form of dota 2 copper league, it blows my mind that someone can play him and seriously mess it up. |

Yea, the wierd thing is I generally play in "high skill" labeled games. This one game with OD was medium though. So it must have been on the border between the two levels. Definitely not copper league.... |

Against total scrubs I bet even a Battlefury / Daedalus ES could be viable ...
You are right of course, Staff + Phase is awesome on WR ... but in a team-play orientated context. It allows you to come and go into fights and to get better positioning for shackles (though one could argue with the "new" shackle system pretty much any retard can land a decent shackle). |
