| I just wanted everyone to know that no prize money was paid out by Lantastic Gaming. I also wanted the community to know that I have filed a law suit to shut this company down. There is no place for people like this in the starcraft community. The $1,000 prize money means nothing to me. I was not even in the tourney. I was there to support my little 18 year old cousin who was excited about the starcraft community growing in Chicago. I am a 29 year old man that will stand up to vultures that try to take advantage of 18-23 year old kids by offering prize money and not paying out. I am willing to spend any amount of money and time to make sure Lantastic Gaming and the Owner Ryan aka Slider gets whats coming to them. I am interested in growing the community not ruining it. It will take a few months to resolve this matter but I will keep the community posted. |

Thanks man - I heard about what you did yesterday from Hubert, who was stuck there all day waiting for his guaranteed prize money. It definitely sounded like a crappy day.
Lantastic, don't "guarantee" a $1000 prize and have such nonexistent promotion/organization that 3 total players show up for a $1000 tournament. |

Copy/pasted from the Reddit thread:
http://www.lantasticgaming.net/windycity/
To summarize: This weekend, "Lantastic gaming" held a $1000 SC2 tournament at Game Pazzo in Downers Grove, IL, charging $50 for entry. Long story short, 3 players showed up as a result of poor advertising and a fishy-looking site. Lantastic tried to cancel then and there, and never paid the players who showed up for the "guaranteed" prize. Players waited all day, starting at 9am, for the "investors" to appear with their money. The whole day and everything the players were told seemed very sketchy. The cousin of one of the players who was present and stepped up for the players at the event is taking legal action.
I'm wondering who else has attended Lantastic tournaments, as they hold them all over the country, and what experiences and details you know. I've heard this isn't the first time they've split with player prize money, and there's rumor of an attempted stolen headset this weekend.
Tournament organizers: Please don't pull stuff like this. Don't waste players' time and money. Be honest and have some integrity.
Edit: Wow, less than an hour from when I put this post up, Lantastic removed all mention of the SC2 tournament from the page. Nothing ever happened!
Lantastic, since you're obviously listening and trying to cover your tracks, please release an official statement regarding your actions this weekend. |

Hello all,
I just wanted to keep everyone posted. There are 30+ players from Call of Duty what want to join in this law suit. They all claim this guy owes money from over 4 months ago. We are moving forward with legal actions. I can't say much more because my attorney wants me remain quite.
Thanks |

No offense, but Lantastic Gaming seems to be a pretty small company... how are you going to just pull 1000 dollars out of your ass if you didn't get any entry money because no players showed up? |

I love how they got shit on by only having 3 people show up to their first event, then they say they will still divide of the 1k among the 3 people, and now everyone is saying they are a terrible company.
Why not just go to the event instead of trying to kill it? |
