However, since I already pay my ISP crap loads of money per month, I want what I watch on it to be free, just like how you watch television. |

It seems safe to assume that at least you have a copy of starcraft, an internet connection, and a computer. If you're complaining about tuition (which I pay as well) then you're going to school in a (presumably) first world country. If you can't afford $20 for an event that is both fine and understandable. But I don't think that means your life is particularly difficult compared to the majority of people on the planet. |

It's not that I think $20 is too much or I can't afford $20, I just don't feel like I should pay to watch streams. I'm OK with having a free LQ stream and a paid HQ stream, and I will pay if I want to watch in HQ. HOWEVER, I do not like this business model and I will not pay for PPV if it is $10 or even $5. |

so annoying how people dont get that its not just about the 20 dollars. if i have to pay 20 dollars and everything is fine forever, okay.
but you pay 20 dollars and on the same time agree with the PPV model in esports. you agree that any given event in esports can charge 20 dollars if you want to watch it. lets say MLG makes all their events 20 dollar because mlg winter was that succesful. then its not about 20 dollars but about.. lets say 150 dollars this year.
not imagening what happens to other events like dh/nasl/ipl.
that is what these 20 dollars stand for. thats a big change in esports history. dont know how so many people dont get it.

wow mlg really did a bad job at enforcing their ppv. Guess now i never will find out how many actually paid unless mlg tells us, which i doubt. Well all i could do was write them an email. But that was really sloppy, as everyone with a bit of knowledge can slip by.
But those with login problems, checking support will help. Now going to try and distract me, as its really tempting. |

| Restreaming puts eyes on their product and says "I want to watch this, I just don't agree with the price point." If you actually object to what they're doing, the correct choice (legally, morally, ethically and functionally) is to not watch. Ignore it. Pretend it didn't happen. Watching restreams tells them they're putting on an awesome event that you want to participate in. |

You can punish them by not buying their product. They have massive production costs, so if not many people buy it they will be punished in the clearest way possible for a company, monetarily. Restreaming doesn't really punish them, since it's pretty clear you were never planning on paying and I doubt many people watching a restream were. They don't incur any extra costs from someone restreaming their event and so long as they aren't losing paying customers it really isn't punishment in the slightest. |
