Hey,
I hit 30 about a week ago, haven't played any ranked yet though. Today I played with a few friends, we rotated a bit, and some of them are "high" ELO players (~1500-1800ish). I play jungler, and until today I rarely met a jungler on the other team that outfarmed or outganked me. However, the games today shattered my self image a bit. Almost every game I got outleveled, outfarmed, outganked and on top of that they also counterjungled me heavily. I mean I dont understand it, in the same timeframe as I they did so much more, often with champions that are slower than me. I mean its awesome to see some good junglers, but I have no idea what and how to improve specifically (everyone can say "gank more", "farm more") to bring my game to the next level...

99/100 junglers arent too fussed about smiting perfectly on blue especially when they want it back sooner for red. you could probably sit there and wait and just auto hit the last shot most games. |

| why do you need to flash away when the jungler would of already taken his 'jungling ability' incase he also has a slow or gap closer, and with move quick no one can catch you anyway. |

Maokai has really shitty level 2 ganks, especially with you opening E. His gank power comes from W > get behind target > Q. If you want to do an early gank do it at level 3, but trying to do a blue start level 2 gank is generally just going to put you behind. Moreover, don't come up the lane where they can run from you before you're in range; instead, come through the tribush so that you're behind them.
After you failed the top gank, you didn't buy any potions, even though you had money. This put you significantly behind on HP, nearly got you killed, and made you unable to continue jungling, let alone ganking. This put you very behind; you're level 3 when you should be level 5.
At 5:30~ you had a wide open gank on Morde and didn't do anything. He pushed past the river with you there and instead of walking in and W'ing or flash W'ing, you just sat there. This indecision cost you a free kill or at least him wasting ult/flash.
Next, you went top when the enemy top was pushed nearly to the tower. I missed some details typing during that, but generally you don't want to try ganking very pushed lanes, especially when you're already behind. Your blue spawned a full minute before you went to kill it. You should be at your blue nearly the second it spawns in most cases. As the enemy jungler, I would have seen you mid without blue past 7:15 and gone and stolen it.
After you get blue, you walk into the enemy jungle and sit at red. Two problems: first, Skarner will rape Maokai, especially since you're underleveled. Second, you wen't so late that not only had red already spawned (normally mid 8 minute mark), but Skarner had taken it and left. Through this entire 60-90 second period you were neither farming or ganking and you're already behind. Just go farm your jungle.
Later you go to wolves and have red. You kill the camp and have nearly full hp/mp and still have red, but you back instead of trying to kill the Morde who is pushed past river.
That's all I watched. Basically you waste too much time not farming or ganking. You don't want try invading to catch the enemy jungler when they're stronger than you and you have no escapes.Last edit: 2012-02-28 10:58:37 |

The only reason this happens is because for some reason people always take like 10 years to decide on their starting items in the fountain.
There's pretty much no reason you should ever get to the enemy's jungle before they do without using TP. |

I dunno what it is with noc. My winrate in ranked with him is absolute shit. No clue why. Just every time I play him my team goes full retard.
As for my favorite odd jungle, its probably volibear atm. Slowish, but stupidly strong ganks and he just somehow makes the game more FUN.
But really im just enjoying being able to rape face with WW. Every jungler secretly has a hard on for him. And if you dont you arent a jungler. |

Thanks for writing these. I noticed a lot of the methods you mention are things I do in Starcraft, but for some unknown reason I haven't been trying in LoL.
It would be awesome if more people, particularly in solo queue, thought more about their own gameplay rather than looking to shift the blame elsewhere. |
