Release poison and they're almost guaranteed to die, making his early and mid game very strong.
No he's not. Chinese play has basically left Shadow Demon behind. At this point, he's a situational counterpick to 4-protects-1 teams or to crush certain lanes, but generally speaking, he's not really a strong pick anymore.
Anyone saying he's still a top pick/ban hasn't been watching competitive DotA 1 recently. He was still banned around the time of WDC last year, but by the time of SMM, G-1 League finals, and G-League finals, he was pretty much never getting banned and only occasionally getting played.

His lack of hard CC DOES burn him lategame. It's the most oft-cited reason by the Chinese for why he isn't played--that his lategame sucks compared to supports with more reliable lategame abilities (Earthshaker, VS, etc.),
it's very hard to get soul catcher on who you want it in the middle of a thick teamfight. shadow poison doesnt have that kind of burst you need, so SD needs a great game to setup items for the late game otherwise he just scales down. IMO shadow demon is very strong in dota2 meta but dota2 still missing a few of the very great teamfight/gank strength heroes.
Shadow Demon doesn't really need any items at all.
One of the few heroes in the game that can have just Phase boots + Force Staff/Medalion 50mins into the game and still be very strong

Lycan reminds me too much of a wannabe Sabretooth from X-Men, really don't like the model(not that we didn't know it would look like this from the preview ~month ago).

Widows peak =/= receding hairline lol. A widows peak of sort of one of those stereotypical features of a werewolf, vampire, etc.

*Googles up Widows peak* ....Looks at the Lycan model... ...Looks back at Zlasher...seems to be a combination of both. Either way he should be exploding with masculinity and hair, its just lacking pizzaz. I expected more!
Also lol TDL, immediately recognized it was from Family Guy before even watching. Good times.

Also, I hate Lycan's attack animation o_<
Lycan's animation is fine - pretty much feels the same as dota 1. He already has ridiculous base damage, what else could you want?

Phew, that is a huge sigh of relief. It pretty much ruined HoN as people would start hitting the concede button as soon as eligible when their team was down on any kills.
