Really, this has nothing to do with esport. It's just a fat character playing a video games when he is not making/Reading comics. It's just the stereotype of a nerd, and it's basically the same as 10 or 20 years ago.

Yeah... that's unfortunately a good point. Might be better if the guy playing was some manly character about to go save the world in some super heroic fashion.

It was great to see on the show. I think people are probably over stating how important it is.
Most likely, it was one or two writers that play the game. They are fans and wanted to give a "shout-out" to the SC2 community. It's not like the producers were pushing the writers to add a SC2 scene. I highly doubt Blizzard paid for the spot.

Anyway, even though its no where close to accurate, YAY FOR STARCRAFT PLUG
I wonder how much they payed Blizzard for this
They wouldnt have payed blizzard anything obviously. Either blizzard asked them to put it in the show AND PAYED THEM for product placement (this happens all the time) or more likely they just got permission to use it. I highly doubt they would pay blizzard to put one of SC2 on national TV they probably just got permission or payed the show to do product placement I could be wrong though. Its alot different then when a show is streaming starcraft games and making money off of it, I dont think alcatraz is going to make any money off of putting that game in the show , maybe a few viewers will be intrigued from teamliquid but thats about it lol.
