Ok, here is the deal, while we have a decent player base, its currently a bit stagnant, with a lot of vets going MIA, and basically the same 50 people playing in all the games.
This is fine and dandy, but its killing our ability to host, and making the queue crawl, among other things (like everyone being able to read everyone else fairly well). The goal of this initiative is to ensure a steady trickle of new players from S&G, using my sinister web of contacts and a series of well placed bribes, I have ensured that we can get a stickied thread in S&G.
Wonderful. Why do you care? Because, I can't do this alone, as awesome and multifacted as I am, I alone cannot hype the mafia forums and make sure we have a constant influx of new players. I need your help
I'm basically looking for hype for the mafia forums, art (wiggles, I'm looking at you), music (I'll be stealing kav's), writeups (anyone who can type), and anything else that someone who has no idea why he should play mafia can look at and say "wow, this is awesome, I'm going to endure palmar and wbg calling me stupid for 20 pages so I can be a part of this!" post it here, and I'll make sure to add it to the OP (as soon as I'm done writing it)
As part of this initiative, I also want there to be (and foolishness has agreed) a newbie game always taking signups, so that we can always have a game new players can go to, rather than a wacky insane theme being the only option. So, someone needs to get on the queue, and offer to host a newbie game asap, I'll try to run as many as possible but I can't do it alone.
I'm also going to be keeping the S&G thread updated with what games are taking signups, and which are ongoing, thus I would really appreciate it if people who are hosting could provide me with a blurb with the salient points of their game when it goes up for signups. It doesn't have to be anything sophisticated, but something someone can look at and say "wow, I really want to play in Dancing Gnome Mafia, it sounds awesome!"
Finally, do what you can to hype mafia, remember more players means a greater variety of games and setups and can only benefit us (it also gives you nice meatsheilds to hide behind in games), so please, make blogs, add a link to your sig, do anything you can. In the forum, behave in a welcoming way, try to provide guidance, and avoid a hostile atmosphere in games if you can. A lot of newer players are turned off when day 1 is 150 pages of people yelling MORON! TROLL! DIE FUCKER! over and over again, so make an effort to seem nice, or at least not dickish.
So yeah, throw content at me, while I work on cobbling together the post for S&G

This is more of a concept.... the idea is right, the shitty mspaint job and text might not be.
But the theme is, lynching Palmar is why you should join TL Mafia lol

I think we should try to have a normal or theme game that is fairly normal takng signups at all times. I was very sad when storm was invite and every other game was not really standard. |

I like the effort, but I just want to point out that this morning (until werewolf finished) we had 5 games running at once, which probably close to peak activity. I have no problem with trying to get new people in, but I don't want it to sound like the playerbase is stagnant or such, when activity is very high at the moment.

GM, I think we need a list of people willing to host newbie games at the drop of a hat. Then you(or foolishness, or someone else in charge) can simply PM anyone on the newbie host list to put up a game and run it. If we have 4 or 5 hosts ready to run with it, then we can always have a newbie game going on. I volunteer to be on that list, as 90% of the time I can host a game. Works for me, I applaud the idea rad, making said list here provisionally.
@Palmar, we didn't really have 5 active games, we had two games finishing (BCs and WWII) and two games taking signups/starting (Resistance and Storm, Kaller didn't go up until WWII was over), neither of which were particularly large, especially considering Storm was semi-invite, most of those games, AFAIK have overlapping player bases. |

I just want to see more mini games. It is hard to go straight from a newbie game to a full size game. They play totally differently. I think the best way to keep people here is for the new guys to form connections that last. This comes from playing together and I think most people who get turned off do so in the big games. In short more Minis.
If you need someone to cohost Minis (Newbie or other) I would offer but I have not got the game experience yet. ROFL I am yet to win a game

I'd be willing to help in some way. I may it have not have the ability to host, but something I can do to assist with recruitment I'll help.
