I know a lot of people (including myself) hate all ins. Its part of the game though and everyone gets tempted at some point. Is there a certain amount you cheese vs play normal?
I tend to do the most all ins in ZvPs. I find the match up ridiculously hard atm. If I see a hole or any strange wall that I know I can break I instantly switch to all in mode. That said if their wall/pylon block (w/o canons etc) is normal I'll play out the game. I've recently gotten away from allinning if I start tilting and just stop playing.
That said is there anything that makes you cheese/all in? Do you always cheese? After a few losses? After a few wins? Randomly? Not at all? There are countless threads on how to defend cheeses/allins, but I'm curious if anyone has any outside triggers them to make that decision to do it. |

| I never cheese, as I have absolutely no respect for anyone that would cheese on ladder. It is just so pathetic. |

If I get aggressively harassed very early game it may trigger some cheese.
If you steal my gas I may just 4 gate you! |

back when I played SC2 I used to 1-1-1 every TvP. Because its impossible to play against lategame Protoss. Sometimes I rush for thor in TvZ, for no particular reason. Thats all I guess. But I get cheesed/allined way more often. |

I've been trying to play PvP out but I just can't stand the match up Since I can execute my 4 gate really well, I've started to just always 4 gate in PvP since most diamond protoss's are still really weak against 4 gate. They also play pretty risky as they tend to go for really quick tech and avoid getting sentries or map control. |

Agree 100% never cheese so it is so tempting to do with the current TvP meta game though. |

Agreed, If I feel i'm too far behind in the early game cause of something that has happened (PvP, PvZ gas steal maybe) then I may 4gate or something.
Also in PvZ I do use cannons at the natural if i feel i can pull it off, so i can get ahead in expansions. Is that cheese?
Anyways that's all i do. I'd love to hear your thoughts |

That's a really strange mindset. Not everyone is trying to become better players. Some people just play for fun. |

| Depends on what it is. It is VERY smart to cheese in the first game of a Bo3 because you make someone play extra safe the next game (assuming you win) and you can get stupidly greedy. On ladder, I try not too cheese because its all about having fun, unless you have fun by cheesing. |

The only fun you would get out of cheesing is making your opponent feel bad. Which I don't consider to be fun at all. |

Depends on what I am in the mood for. I will do it occasionally, but not often. I used to get really frustrated with one base play, but I've learned that the game doesn't conform to my expectations, I have to conform to its rules. Sometimes one base or all in play is a reasonable choice. For example, if I go one gate robo in PvT, and I see he has gone gasless expand, and we are something like close air meta or shattered, I'm not afraid to throw down 3 extra gates instead of a nexus and go for the 4gate warp prism all in. Its just really strong in such a situation.
I rarely "cheese" if by cheese we mean "Make a build order choice which I feel has as much chance of losing as it does winning" and hope for the best.

Then one might say you're really not going to get all that far with the exception of ladder.
Cheese is an integral part of the game, while it may not be 'honorable' it is intelligent to chuck any sort of cheese build you have planned in a BoX purely to throw your opponent off guard. I just don't see how people can stick to the logic 'Cheesing is bad and disrespectful, and I want to make a non-existent name for myself in the community as the guy who doesn't cheese'. Safe builds have been recognised and created in this game to combat all types of cheese, at the end of the day, if you choose to play greedily and your opponent chooses to cheese, then unfortunately you more than likely lose, mind games are a heavy aspect of SC2, and if you are someone who has sworn to never cheese then you are a player who is easily read and figured out.
See: Naniwa v Leenock and then numerous MVP games where he chucks in 2 rax's and makes his opponent look disgustingly bad and then proceeds to destroy them in their series'.
Also, I generally cheese in Game 1 of a BoX if I know what build my opponent is more inclined to do and I know they are better than me, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's a risk, and I like risks :D |

I personally open up safe and defensive in ZvT and ZvZ, and decide if I want to hit some timing depending on what I've seen. So no cheese in these 2 mu's.
ZvP on the other hand, if it's a map with a large area around the natural and I see a FFE, I will go one base roach and snipe the nexus while droning and taking an expo behind that. |
| | Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. | |

I'm trying to get myself to chase less by focusing on WHY I lost instead of the loss itself and being more accepting of BM. I don't allways chease but when I do I chease bmers. Also my new opener vs Protoss could be considered chease because it relies on dealing damage to be any good but it doesn't exactly seem all in if I play very well after. |
