Put it this way. Of everyone had to qualify via the one qualifier, a large majority of this bracket wouldn't have even made it to the final 32 and would have been replaced by a lot of the current Code S/A players..

yea man, i totally didn't buy the PPV because I heard there was no prize ceremony. you can see good high level SC2 games for free with the GSL, the prize ceremony is the only thing i was here for. what a disappointment |

That's because Naniwa can't even make it past R1 of Code A.

i paid $20 expecting the same also. Instead, i saw that the asus rog assembly actually had an amazing prize ceremony and also gave the top 3 amazing trophies and 4-6 nice participation certificates.
If you want to ask people to pay $20, then the least you can do is to give us a trophy ceremony. I can put up with lag during th finals and during games but when there is a anticlimax with no trophies awarded, that is disappointing.
Mlg should realise that if you want esports to be compared with sporting events, then you better start following assembly and start giving players trophies and big cheques. I don't want to end on a negative note, but i'd like to say that the mlg streaming system was pretty much amazing, and it was a pleasure to watch the quad streams.

1 happens. MKP lost 4 games. So it's sort of like losing 2 bo3's. It's not elegant and I would prefer separate series, but that's what would happen.

| I honestly think this could have been an online tournament. Save 100k$+ and make something with it. Great players and really good stream quality (those colors!) Tasteless with that blizzard dude was pretty painful to watch/listen. Some good games, but not incredible. Kind of mixed feelings. |

Nice tournament, worth paying I guess. In fact I wanted to pay since yesterday, but the stream kept staying free so I never ended up paying (I thing MLG will have some words with Twitch....they cost MLG some money this weekend).

I think you have to view this as an experiment. In my eyes, if MLG is wanting to head in the direction of PPV events (which is completely acceptable given the growth of the scene), it makes more sense to make it a live audience event, not a closed lan event.
Overall, I think this event was a success. The content was very good (how could it not be with such a good bracket), the stream itself was very smooth with only a couple of hiccups, very intuitive UI, casting line-up was decent (thought there are only like 3-4 casters I actually enjoy listening to atm, but I won't get into that).
I think MLG did it a bit wrong, and hopefully as a community we've contributed to them seeing they're errors and correcting them in the future.
You have to remember how new the scene still is. As this get bigger, there are going to be more experiments made and there are always going to be kinks that need to be worked out. As a community, offering advise and criticise is a good thing, as long as we don't over dramatise things too badly.
