TL dropped their spoiler policy for SC2 about a week ago now. There was an announcement.
If you worked and couldn't watch the finals, you should have watched the finals before opening one of the premier SC2 news hubs in the world, regardless of their old spoiler policy. Past experience dictates that it's very likely the results will be spoiled somewhere you didn't expect to see them.
Your comparison between GSL finals spoilers and movie spoilers is ridiculous. More apt to bring up sports websites/forums or newspapers, because they are analogous to what Teamliquid.net has become. Both of these mediums immediately post results to big games on their front pages. Lets say you missed the Super Bowl, but really wanted to watch it, so you record it. Do you cry when you walk by a paper stand the next day and find out who won the big game before watching it?

We don't have to be quite as mean about it, but yes, team liquid has a yes spoilers policy on the front page. Tbh, it's the best thing that's happened since sliced bread, since I can now refresh the home page instead of liquipedia when I want results.

i think this getting Personally Annoyed and Insulted about seeing shows of emotion, humour and personality instead of Professional Business Additudes is a pretty distinctly american thing. do realise your views on such things are not objective or absolute, especially when they're in the minority.
I don't know any professional sport where during the course of a match/event players of opposing sides put on what amounts to a comedy show. You wouldn't see KeSPA allow this. You wouldn't see an NFL franchise tolerate this. I probably wouldn't mind as much if this happened in ro32 group stage or something, but come on, this was the finals. I expected a little more composure.
So obvious that you have never watched BW
Key difference is, that was after the finals ended, not between sets. And it wasn't done in a way that humiliates his opponent, even if that wasn't DRG's intention.

I paid money to watch this as well. You should also look at the the third post on this page.

Man, those games were epic. Sorta wish crossfire wasn't one of the maps...

This wouldn't have been a problem if TL sent everyone a PM about it and had the option right in their profile or up top. They really weren't considerate enough to those type of people.

I don't get why people think these games were all that epic. They were hyped, sure and Tastosis made it sound like the best games ever played, but really? The atmosphere was great (although I thought the music and korean casters being louder than the Tastosis sound was kinda annoying'.
Game 1 was a textbook standard PvZ for that map. Granted, Genius did some cute Phoenix control to come out of the first few attacks relatively unharmed, although he lost most his sentries. DRG overcommits a tiny bit on Genius´ third, giving Genius just the edge he needs and his deathpush rolls all over DRG. Unexciting to watch.
Game 2 was Genius doing some weird all-in that would have worked if he didn't bungle his micro and flew his Void Rays around for a good 10 seconds instead of just nuking the Spore while lifting the Queen. DRG mopped him up from there. Exciting game to watch, especially with DRGs ovie placement, up until the moment where Genius for some reason pulls his VRs back.
Game 3 was epic in a way that it was a total genius build, sending all sorts of wrong information to DRG. Genius stopped probes at 44, so basically he HAD to destroy the third or lose. DRG eventually figures it out, but then wastes a lot of larvae on lings that do nothing and Genius simply walks over his third. What´s exciting about this game is the tension `will this work or will it not´ similar to game 2. When DRG threw away about 40 lings in a vain attempt to delay the stalker ball you knew it was over though.
Game 4 Genius goes double port and masses some Phoenixes, but DRG spots them when there are 4 out and also spots the dual stargate thanks to Genius conveniently placing them at the edge of his base. The game is basically over then, but Genius decides to embarass himself and bore the viewers by turtling with sentires and rushing carriers. Meanwhile DRG macro's up and kills him with his first attack. This game ended when DRG spotted the dual stargate and 4 Phoenixes. Totally dull.
Game 5 was a copy of game 1 and Genius should have easily had this if he didn't move command his 4 sentries into like 15 Roaches and would leave a Zealot in his wall instead of losing his main Nexus to a ling runby. So what we get to watch is 2 players playing textbook and when things start heating up, one makes a juvenile mistake and throws the game. Funny enough, DRG trades army for economy and is wide open to a counter attack after the dust settles, but Genius runs the length of Metropolis a few times, giving DRG ample time to remax.
Game 6 was on Crossfire, so basically after game 5 we knew DRG would take it 4-2. Even then, by some miracle, Genius *completely* outplays DRG for the first 15 minutes in some interesting engagements and when he has his giant stalker ball and kills the third the game gets really exciting. Muta's are harassing and all Genius has to do really is deny DRG a third while he takes his own. Of course, he first walks into infinity spinecrawlers and loses a third of his Stalkers and then in a fluke of what must have been amnesia, he splits his army in two, allowing half his stalker ball to get slaughtered. An easily won game turns into a race to see if he can kil DRGs third before the muta ball becomes too big to handle. Genius, yet again, walks his army back and forth a few times, attacks into horrible positions even though he has blink and hands DRG the title. Of all games, this one was the most interesting up until the moment where Genius decides DRG gets to win and runs his army into all the spines.
Was it exciting games? Well, I guess. It's the GSL finals and the atmosphere was great. I didn't watch it live (7 am and all), but watched it before getting spoiled (really, you expect to come to this game's major non-Korean website and expect to browse it without getting spoiled... really?), and I sure liked watching it. Well worth the time spent. But great games? Meh... not so much.

seriously agreed
especially if you only visit once in a while how the hell are you suppose to know if their policies change?
i do hope they send everyone a email notification about this cause this will most likely drag on
way to let the members down teamliquid!!

To everyone complaining about the new spoiler policy:
Please take it to website feedback. There is almost no chance that the TL staff will even see your concerns if you post in here

Does anyone know when up/downs are? I can't find anything on Gom site or Liquipedia. It's everyone who lost in ro32 and ro24 code A, yes? 12 + 16 players.
And that was totally sweet to hear the Cars, I'm watching the first set now, the only one I missed. Really fun trash talk, too.

Up/downs are moved to the start of the next season: Season 2. That's the new format, the current season is officially over.
