Wow. I just watched the vod and Katu literally did nothing terrible at all.. and like others have said I've heard worse by Moletrap on the GSL...

And yet, many people who saw the stream are going to come away thinking it's all true. And many are only going to read comments like this and come away thinking it's all true. |

Just a bit of food for thought, regarding Katu's "insincere" apologies.
Apparently, Dragon's apologies were not quite as sincere as we would be led to believe. When he stated that he would "never dream of other tournaments, televised matches, or pursue a career as a pro-gamer." He never even decided to leave the professional gaming scene to begin with.

The conversation should never go to Dragon's past except to disprove what Katu said about his cheating leading to his leaving SlayerS. I think anything more than that is distracting from what Katu actually said which is, put in very simple terms,:

That's what I got out of listening to what he said. If this is the first incident that he has had on stream for playhem I think he deserves a second chance with a big emphasis on something like this never happening again. If something inappropriate has happened with him on Playhem's stream before than he deserves to be kicked off their casting team. Looking at it from any other leagues PoV you should talk to him and make sure he really knows that something like this is completely unacceptable to do on stream.

Dragon shouldn't be playing tournaments at all. He was accused of streamcheating or hacking in some regards and apologised without ever stating what he was apologising for. He also said he wouldn't play any more tournaments or pursue any professional gaming career. Why is he even allowed to play this tournament? The Korean community was pretty mad when Mr Chae let him play GSL after he said he would never progame again.
As entertaining and amusing as he is I don't see why he is allowed to compete in online tournaments when he never even admitted to what hack or streamcheat he used.
Oh and as for people saying there were X-thousand people watching his stream. It's called a 2nd monitor. It really isn't hard to streamcheat even with a webcam on you.

Thing is, if you watch Dragon's stream regularly, most of the things he did in the tournament is what he always does on ladder, where there is no stream cheating possible. So to people who watch Dragon's stream, he didn't do anything different or special. And Dragon could be lagging cause he's in korea, and lives at home, not in a sc2 team house with amazing internet.
But at the same time I guess we might not know all the facts that happened during Playhem. But at this point it is very hard to call Dragon a stream cheater or hacker, thats why everyone is focusing on Katu. |
