6 hours of additional gameplay. So let's say 5-8 depending on how fast you burn through it and difficulty. How anyone can call this a ripoff is just beyond me. If it was $60, $40, or maybe $30 I might agree with you. But 20 fucking dollars is a steal for 6 additional hours of content, an improved engine with bug fixes and a bunch of other cool new shit. That will be even more enticing to major RPG fans who never had the opportunity to play this before. EDIT: Fun fact, did you know the new character gives an entire new area and a new adventure as well?

FOUR additional hours. That's 10 fucking hours of new content. That's not even counting the other two characters who both also promise 5 hours of new gameplay. That can be upwards of 20 HOURS of new content. You're telling me 20 hours of new content, new characters, new voice overs, new graphics and a new engine with massive bug fixes and major steps to modernizing the game isn't worth $20?
You do realize that "6 hours of gameplay" can be actual 30 minutes of gameplay to some people? They tend to exaggerate the numbers to market stuff. And the 4 hours of gameplay for the different characters might even be intertwined with the 6 hours of gameplay, as in, maybe the new playable adventure holds the new gameplay of the new characters
If you look at it like that, $20 for widescreen mod, bug fixes, 1 more quest, and new PCs doesn't really mean much when mods can also give you new quests, new PCs.
I'm definitely tempted to buy it. But you have to look at it from multiple angles. These guys want to make money. I'm almost tempted to throw them the $20 so they could make a BG2 EE

That's kinda what I'm thinking too. I loved playing the original BG as a kid but BG2 was the true classic imo. |

Playing through BG1 TOSC at the moment, my fav RPG bar none. I'll be getting the enhanced version for the new content and to (hopefully) show there is still a strong interest in the game/franchise.
BG3 could be awesome if it's done well. Dragon Age franchise has been a bit mixed imo. Some good stuff and some not so good.
For those of you that missed BG you are in for a treat. Lets hope it goes well and we see more work done in the spirit of BG. |

| Yes i will be buying it i am glad they are sticking with infinity gives them more time to focus on gameplay instead of flashy graphics like dragon age (which was also a good game but was nowhere near as deep as baldurs).After the massive disappointment of diablo 3 i'm sure people are looking forward to a great PC RPG being released even if it is only a rehash. |

| Interested, but I don't know if I can ever enjoy BGII again after playing it so many times. I try replaying it every year or so but my memories are still fresh enough that I find myself skipping most of the dialogue, and the game doesn't really require me to use much of the available resources swhen it only takes like 8 spells to effectively kill and be invincible, so this rehash will need to overhaul a lot of the gameplay or I'll be waiting on modders port the tactical mods like sword coast strattegems |

| The text window was the same in BG 1 & 2 and you could enlarge it. I'm sure it will be also possible as the button to enlarge seems to be still there. |

I think its ok, the only missing thing would be enlarging/remaking the character models but its ok  (they said it was impossible already before, given team resources) Slightly overpriced but still worth it because of quality of original.
And yes the message window can be enlarged.
I believe its a correct way, to present old titles and show younger generations a truly good games, now i still pray for HD version of 1993 Syndicate, with exact same gameplay and remastered 3d graphics (basically doing the thing that failed in Syndicate wars). Last edit: 2012-09-07 19:40:52 |

I agree that the combat log window feels a bit small but I don't worry too much about that, I assume we will be able to resize it. Actually, what bother me the most is the absence of border between portraits. It looks so weird and you can barely see the characters selected... Hope they can fix that before release.
Still super exited about the game, cannot wait for the 18th!!! |

The text window was always tiny - you could change its size, but it started at only a few lines. |
