So basically everyone beat everyone in PvP (as expected) but MC was able to thump Nerchio pretty hard in the one skill based match he played and was lucky that he rolled heads a few more times than anyone else in his group to ensure he got 1st and not 2nd or 3rd.

and what the hell do you know about huk's intentions? it seems quite obvious that he is just bitter, and obviously you like huk better than elfi so you make an excuse for him.

or yeah you're right huk is just mocking the matchup which happens to be his worst, in which elfi beat his ass, and coincidentally he mocks elfi a little bit either, but this is all nice and good and justified because you like huk.

Sounds like you just like elfi lmao? What are you even talking about, when did I say Huk's not bitter? I was stating that it's not ironic that he mocked the matchup just because he lost to the person, because that's not the definition of ironic at all. I couldn't care less about elfi or Huk.

It just makes me sad when my favorite player gets beaten/knocked out in pvp by a overall lesser skilled player. It's just sad.
So good to see MC made through today.

Because SC2 should be a game where favorites win 100% of their games vs less skilled players, right?

Elfi was the better player today, deal with it.

Isn't Nerchio also 3-2? So there are four players at 3-2? What is the tiebreak in that situation?

3 players at 3-2.

Gamescore > Head to Head.

Nerchio's game score is equal with HasuObs but he lost the Head to Head.

Seems to be true for Protoss and to some extent Terran (Goody, Sjow), we have yet to see a Zerg with really low APM and bad mechanics have any degree of success...

Low APM has nothing to do with bad mechanics.

And PvP is usaly one base or 2 with very few workers so the APM really isnt needed unless there is a fight.

Stop it with the "hidden" zerg is harder- whine.

I'm not sure but doesn't Violet have really low apm? I remember him saying that in an interview.

Compared to a Zerg like DRG, yes, he's slow, but so is Idra. It's not on the same level as Elfi or Goody though.

Nerchio won 2-0 against Grubby which changes nothing. So sad that Nerchio had to play all his group games with his worst MU ;( And look at Sockes situation ;/ I think I like 4 player groups more.

How boring would this game be to watch if beating someone 'more skilled' was impossible though? Even the best of the best only have ~70% win rates and that's a very good thing.

Not boring at all, it would make the inevitable upset that much more meaningful. When Flash lost his 14-0 winning streak it was big. Foreigner upsets in PvP are so common its almost standard.

happens to be his worst? He did beat a bunch of protoss in at MLG Arena. People said that HuK was lucky to have such an easy bracket. He beat minigun, socke, and Oz. At MLG Orlando, he was stuck in the Protoss group which he came out in first (and eventually won that tournament).

hes using a 20dollar microsoft keyboard that doesnt have nkey rollover so yeah.

Is nkey really important for SC2? I thought nkey was important for wasd movement games but in SC2 you can really only issue one command at once which is while tactile keyboards are preferred.

If Nerchio Elfi and HasuObs all are 6-5, who makes it through?
Nerchio beat Elfi lost to Hasu.
Hasu beat Elfi and Nerchio
Elfi lost to both.

No one wants to watch a game where skill isn't rewarded.

Upsets are fine if they're skill based and deserved.

PvP is just luck. Look at the group, basically everyone won 2 PvP's and lost 2 PvP's except Grubby who won 1 and Elfi who won three. Elfi got 2-0d by Hasu who got 2-0'd by MC and White Ra but White Ra who beat both MC and Hasu lost to Grubby who lost to everyone else.

That's not fun. It's random and shit.

Sadly, the day of a tournament where someone can go to the finals playing only one match up are gone.

I was just talking about pvp, and elfi was not the better player today. MC's 1st in group and elfi's 2nd. Don't be so sensitive.

Y but he won against Elfi who is also 3-2. I think they count all games (elfi 8-6 vs nerchios 6-5) ?

that hate from idra and huk on elfi @ twitter...
at least i have something to laugh about when idra loses tomorrow and keeps blaming the "terrible conditions" on it... and huk talking about pvp - HuK, who plays PvP like a fusion of InCa and BitbyBit, mixing 4 gate with dts and flipping the coin.
