Your intentions might not support me, but your wording supports me. So I am fine with that. You are basically saying sc2 is popular internationally because its easier and its true. Look at broodwar, only hardcore players play it, thats why lol will be more popular then sc2 in times to come. Thanks for the unintentional support

We agree that the game is easier than BW and that it's international popularity owes a lot to that but unlike you I don't think that's a bad thing and I'm not going to look down on SC2 for being more accessible than it's predecessor.

If having the competitive scene be smaller in Korea is the price to be paid for it being much bigger everywhere else then I'm fine with that.

If LoL had better casters i would watch it over sc2.

lol at every single event LoL seems to smash SC2 in viewers. Where exactly are you seeing SC2 surpass LoL?

The GSL, as I said, where the top SC2 players are. In looking only at tournaments that LoL and SC2 players both participate in, you're comparing the best of LoL to the leftovers of SC2.

This is when comparing sports to e-sports doesn't match.

Michael Jordan dominated basketball. You can not argue that he was the best player in the world for his era. So who, then, is the best LoL player in the world? Most LoL players I know would actually say that's a stupid question with no answer.

So I don't feel my comparison was totally inappropriate. Sports need story-lines, and story-lines need faces and personalities. SC2 has had that with MVP, MC, and Nestea. Flash and The Emperor? Who is going to give LoL that kind of identity? M5? I don't think so.

But this is going outside my original point, which is that LoL simply isn't as engrossing to watch as SC2.
[/b]

So Jordan could of won all those titles by himself huh. No need for the other four guys on the team (which btw are almost as famous as Jordan is). And considering the massive ammounts of viewers that actually watch LoL compared to SC2, I would say that your original point is already invalid.

When have I said its a bad thing? Which part of my lines said " oh its bad that sc2 is easier then broodwar". I am saying and again I quote myself "So true, kind of sad really, the amount of people taking hits at LoL and forgetting they are playing a easier game compared to brood war". Which means why are you taking hits at LoL when sc2 is easier then bw, You really need to read properly man. I know sc2 is like "THE THING" to you, but you are being wayyyy to offended by me without reading what I said properly.

Wow, the amount of hate on LoL astounds me....

By insulting LoL as an esports, does nothing to help esports in general. It doesn't some how make SC2 shine brighter as an esports, it doesn't make any other esports look better by shitting on LoL. In fact all it does is show how immature the entire esports community is.

lol, so true, people want the game they play to be "the one game" of esports instead of supporting everything in general. People all want others to know that their game requires more skill then the ones others play to feel good about themselves. Silly actually, I came from brood war and I will support any game that promotes esports instead of trying to prove to the world how "difficult" my game is.

SC2 is "THE THING" to me? Now who's making shit up?

The only online game I've played for the past 8 months is LoL and I think the SC2 elitists bashing on it for being too easy to be an esport are just as pathetic as the BW elitists who have been spouting the same shit about SC2 for the past 2 years.

While you didn't directly state that SC2 being easier than BW is a bad thing your first post certainly suggested as much, referring to the game as "inferior", a "joke" and "so easy."

And please quote the place where I "Suggested as much" referring to the game as "inferior" a "joke" and "so easy" is to show sc2 fan boys how silly they sound when they bash LoL. Again, read this whole post before inferring points that seem as if its insulting "your game" to you. I did the courtesy of analysing your statements, you should do it to, since you are making my points look stronger.

Watching LoL is like is the closest thing you could get to a "conscious coma."

I'm really glad this is happening. Blizzard/Activision has basically lost all of my respect and loyalty over the course of a year or two. Even with this pre-determined double expansion pack BS, I was willing to stand up for them because WC3 and SC had earned my loyalty. This is no longer the case, I've come to understand that they don't give a single damn about SC2's playerbase, so they can go rot for all I care.

Many years ago in Korea, they saw scbw as the game with the potential. They trained in it and they raised an esports scene out of it. Now it is indisputably regarded as the greatest esport both skill-wise and spectator-wise. This wouldn't have happened anywhere else in the world. I'd like to think that I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to competitive gaming, but if LoL is this major in Korea and getting so much support from people with credibility, I cannot give myself the right to say with absolute certainty that LoL is a casual game with no spectator value, even though this is my opinion of it.

With the emergence of teams like M5, it makes us realize how much we still have to learn about LoL and how undeveloped it really is. Years later, perhaps we will realize that all the criticisms are right, that LoL is too casual and doesn't deserve to be an esport. Conversely, maybe Korea will discover skills and strategies in LoL that will make it a truly great esport. Either outcome is possible at this point, and as a true lover of esports, I am going to put all my faith in the latter. Go Korea!

LoL is basically like Call of Duty while SC2/BW is like CS:S or 1.6. It's way more popular because it's easier to get into, and everybody is "good". It doesn't take as much work to be good at LoL than it does as Starcraft. People don't like working hard, especially for games. Sadly this is the road gaming is going down. It's just gonna get easier and easier.
