We are six weeks into the Altitude ISL's qualifying stage and only one final Qualifier remains. Below you'll find an overview of the players that have qualified so far, some fresh interviews, and a look ahead at only remaining way to get on board. All report at Gate 7, the ISL is just about to take off. As per usual, you can follow the Qualifier 7 at hacklebeast and L_Master, whose streams start at 20:00 CET Saturday and 19:00 CET Sunday respectively.
Qualifier 7 musings When the qualifying format for the Altitude's ISL3 was first announced, there was a lot of backlash. No ladder stage, but gruelling single elimination brackets. The worst part though? Only three tries. I have to say though, as an onlooker, this whole scheme makes matters a whole deal more interesting as we get to watch the players make their decisions. Let's see... first there's the mappool that people can choose as per preference and then there's the thought that the later qualifiers will be easier since all the gosus have already qualified. Then again, said gosus might be thinking along those same lines, plus waiting for the last qualifier to make an attempt is a waste of your precious two other tries. Metagaming abounds. As far as mappool goes, feel Qualifier 7 might be the most attractive one. With Sniper Ridge, Ground Zero and Jade it's certainly the most modern one - taking also into account how these new proleague maps have been featured heavily in other BW leagues as well. There's a number of very skilled players still in the queue to take a shot at qualifying and, although the majority of foreigners' finest have already made it through, everyone will be wanting to get in on Q7. The three-tries rule is out of the window now anyway, since it's everyone's last try. It's crunch-time - do or die. It's ISL3.

Interview with S2GlowSingporian Zerg S2Glow made it through the very first Qualifier by beating Outrage You qualified in the first qualifier, on your first try! All according to plan? S2Glow: Yeap , actually i already planned to qualify once i saw my bracket and i know southpark is the toughest and i have to go through him. z v z is my most confident match up therefore anything could happen just too bad that he did not turn up and i have become a overnight hotstuff ( in a bad way i guess !! ) So how far do you want to go? Do you think you can make it past groups? S2Glow: My only target is passing group stage and I will have to hope that my bracket are good =P with no wo. ofc!! Next weekend is the final qualifier - are there any players you hope still qualify? S2Glow: Doesnt matter anyway , no point hoping for any low level to qualify because if we are in the same group for group stages , people will say wow i am so lucky etc.. rather not ! Thanks for the interview and good luck in the rest of the tournament S2Glow: okay ~ thanks bb ^^
Interview with skzlimeHungarian Terran skzlime made it through in Qualifier 3, beating Bizzy and V-Gundam in the process You qualified in Qualifier 3 on your first try! All according to plan? skzlime: Nah, i planned to get invited but pez told me i should probably qualify just in case. Seems like there's a few terrans already so i guess it was a good idea. (j/k) So when you decided to try and qualify, did you pick number 3 for a specific reason? skzlime: Yes. The first map was supposed to be aztec, which is obviously terran imba, but then i got a w.o So far only 6 Terrans have advanced, do you feel any pressure now that you're one of the few representatives of your race? skzlime: there can be only 2 in the finals anyway, so no, not really So you plan on making the finals? =D skzlime: I will also win the finals, not just make them. ^.^ Next weekend is the last qualifier - are there any players you'd still like to see qualify? skzlime: Yes, i'd really like it if Zim_ could qualify. no one else comes to mind specifically. i wish zaraki could have qualified though ): i obviously want all sas. members who try to succeed, especially lumix ^.^ Ok cool, thx for the interview and good luck in the rest of the tour! skzlime: (: thank YOU!

Please read rule #13 about the maps. Also, even with the brackets being randomized at the end of the day Wednesday's, they won't be listed on AltitudeISL.net or Liquipedia until mid-Thursday.

After receiving a generous sponsorship from Altitude for Altitude's International StarLeague and indulging in an abundance of Godiva milk chocolate, I felt that the Brood War community needed a treat as well. As some might know, I choreographed ISL1, in which the replays were released, and ISL2, in which the replays have been collecting dust in my archives. Today, that ceases to be a truth.Simply put, you can now download not only the ISL2 replays from AltitudeISL.net front page, but every single qualifier's replays after the completion of the casts, inclusive, but not limited to this qualifier.
