the fact that they even found a way to have a 3rd season bodes well IMO. excited to see a player in the game that needs to take a few risks and will thus mix things up

what happened to "insured and secured by Blizzard" ?
"
For the funding that you've received how many seasons is that money going to go towards?
We're already sold on three seasons. The money has been budgeted and secured. There's no like, “well gosh, if season one does really well then season two will be fine.” It's completely secure for three seasons. It's all insured and backed by Blizzard, that kind of stuff. And the idea again is that we laid down the infrastructure, it grows, gets easier as we go, and then if it's a profitable venture we can continue on for four, five, six seasons and beyond.

this is awesome.
I personally am super pumped for NASL season 3! This is there make it or break it season considering they had it set in stone 3 seasons, and this is the third season. 1 and 2 were lacking, the pool play was a fucking bore, nothing important, losing a match or 2 meant nothing, it was all from replays that were at least 1-2 weeks old, players said they would play half of the seasons matches in 1 day, it just wasn't fun. The new commentators, more $$, live or as close to live replays as possible, each match is more important, this should be alot more fun!
The only way to attack structure is with chaos.

Great idea, but I'm really skeptical. This league hasn't been so well. Everything has been great ideas wasted. Like red carpet with barely a live audience.
I stopped watching last season because it just felt so uninteresting.
I hope they can get this really hyped up and going in the mlg/gsl direction, and not wcg direction.
$100 for winner of each match should be enough. Put that $50 from each match for the 1st place and 2nd place finalists. Giving money to someone who loses seems like a waste. I'm kind of mentally fixed on raising the prize pool for the top 8.
I think the loser needs to get some of the money. They are both playing for my entertainment, and both deserve to be compensated, in much the same way professional athletes are. Maybe eventually this needs to fall to the teams, but few teams are paying reasonable salaries right now. I think Total Biscuit has it right with his tournaments, everyone who plays should at least get something, because they should be compensated for their time at the very least.

Not good splitting up as it might induce match fixing.
Other thing is that this wont really effect whether player take it real or not as players might make deal behind organizers or teams. "Lose game and you get $150 right away to give me better chance to advance and get bigger money" Even include cut of prize money.

I like $100 per match more. Save some money and use it for next season, or to fly in someone, or add it to the finals prizepool. $150 feels like too much.
It's a good idea though.

If this kind of thing were to be going on there would be far bigger issues to deal with that how to divvy up the 150 bucks.
