| I'm not sure if this has happened to any of you but I preordered and I'm trying to download this massive 7GB beast, my Internet isn't the fastest so I have to do it in small increments or my modem will just implode on itself. Anyway, the bottom line is, I downloaded 5GB and now it's back to 50MB when I restarted it, has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to get that 5GB back? |

| Yeah I did that but it seems like it overwrites it or something... I rechecked the folder and it is 50MB instead of 5GB.. I guess I'm not going to cancel it anymore. |

| sometimes it just takes time to register how much you have downloaded, and it makes sure you have downloaded everything large chunks at a time, so even though at first it may seem like 50mb, it may go up at a huge speed. However, if the files in your folder are only 50mb then yeah I guess it got canceled.... |

It sucks if it got canceled, you could find a torrent for it I'm sure there's one with decent seeders. Then you wouldn't have those problems and even if it's slow, you got a month. good luck |

| I could see this happening if they changed alot of the core files inbetween the times when you first downloaded and now the second time. Thats the only logical thing I could think of IF you infact downloaded to the exact same folder you did last time. I usually download big things like this overnight when I'm sleeping, if its very big I do it overnight continued over the day when I work. But if your having modem problems (Imploding wtf?!) then I dont know what you should do. Maybe wait untill its closer to release to prevent the gamefiles from updating to much(leading to a reset of your download). |

Ah don't bother with Blizzard installer if it resets your download, just get the client from the Pirate Bay or other torrent tracker. It's called Diablo III Preload.
Note, this has nothing to do with piracy, the preload is free and I don't believe there are any distribution constraints. In fact, Blizzard installer is a piss poor variation of a torrent client that can seldom suck pretty badly. |

When you close the Bnet downloader goto File->Exit Don't close it any other way! Sounds retarded, but closing it any other way doesn't save the current sessions progress.

Yeah use a p2p program or usenet or something.
Its the license that determines legality not the download.
For large id use p2p or something with a guranteed fat connection to keep things smoooth. |

I basically had to have my computer sit there for a half and a day to download the thing. At least for now, I have my Diablo 3, although I cannot install it yet... gotta wait until May 15 or how does that work?
Does someone know? |

| Blizzard advertised the pre-sale a bit badly. It specifically says you'll be able to download and install the game before launch. I don't know how many people I've seen ask why they can't install it right away. |

I've never had any problems with it. Just closing it with the X also works for me, or the cancle button. |

Just got this problem this morning, got pretty annoyed because it'd been downloading all night. It seems to be an issue with restarting the download rather than closing the download, when you locate it to the place you were previously downloading, on random occasions it'll just replace it rather than continuing it if you've downloaded more than 4gigs.
And I know there's people reading this thinking we're all stupid and just directing it to the wrong place, but there's definitely an issue with the launcher. |

So when the game is live, only then we can install? How lame is that? |

| Not that lame at all, as you'll still be able to play the game at like 12:05 am. And they could unlock the installer before midnight, who knows. Only time will tell |

| My guess is it's to prevent people from getting access to things Blizzard doesn't want them to access yet, it'd be a pretty big risk, and yeah it'll take most 10 minutes to install anyway. Hardly worth complaining about. |

| IIRC thats what they did for cataclysm. You'll be able to play at the exact time of release but you cant really install it long before them. I guess they'll enable the option to install it a day or two before release and will enable the game exactly during release. I do not see any issues with that whatsoever. |
