A while ago I was messing around with installing Windows XP from a USB stick. I couldn't get it to work and ended up using a CD as I had previously. I haven't touched the USB stick since. Now that I needed to use it again for something different I notice there's only 2 gb visible on it. It's an 8 gb stick and all 8 gb where available before I started messing with this bootable USB. Clearly I have done something that somehow partitioned it in a way. What can I do to un-do this? |

| | I'm taking whatever coverage I can get, because frankly, I'm busy working on this million dollar deal at my job. Early retirement is a good thing brotha man. - MessengerASL |

| Copy any files you have in it that you need onto some other folder. Then format the flash drive. That's the only thing I can think of. |

| Formatting did nothing. This was on Windows XP which has no option of deleting the partitions. I ended up finding a utility called BOOTICE that luckily could restore it to its original state. |

You can try this
Open the Start Menu, cmd, and right click administrator Type list disk, press Enter Type select disk X (where X is the number your USB drive shows up as), press Enter Type clean, press Enter Type create partition primary, press Enter Type active, press Enter Type format quick fs=fat32, press Enter Type assign, press Enter Type exit, press Enter Copy everything from the Windows XP installation DVD onto the USB key
