I realize there is a thread for armor but I think the difference in resolution and the leap from pictures to video warrants a new thread. If any mods disagree then feel free to close this and I apologize. + Show Spoiler +
Maybe edit this video and poll into the other thread?
Good day all!
I've just posted a video showing all of the classes mid and upper armor tiers from all angles in glorious, head spinning(not just the heroes) - high definition. The video:
The poll:
Poll: Which class do you think has the best looking armor sets?
Barbarian (49)
34%
Witch Doctor (40)
28%
Demon Hunter (26)
18%
Wizard (19)
13%
Monk (9)
6%
143 total votes
Your vote: Which class do you think has the best looking armor sets?
WD is the only one the really differs from the others - including all sorts of animalistic and ghastly figures. The rest are sorta just the same... I actually thought Wizard was the 2nd show. They all looked too familiar. Except for Monk who seemed a bit wanting save a few cool outfits.
I just hope that each set wont be an 'automatic upgrade' everytime, ie. every set tier should have different stat-focus so you could at least mix'n'match 2-3 sets in order to accomodate for your build (crit, damage, hp, dmg return.. w/e)
Never question your luck

Hopefully they do a reforge option like WoW where you can choose to make your armour look like any piece you've previously owned. Not sure whether to be happy about the way they've done it- there's clearly a common theme running through the upper tier sets, the second last one seems to be angelic/bright themed while the last one is crimson/demon themed for example. On one hand that's going to make high level parties look sickeningly cool with their personalised but unified armour designs, on the other hand it really doesn't help showcase the individuality of the classes. I liked the way they did WoW armour designs far better- personalised to each class to really show off what it was about, without much regard to the other classes.

They are ok-ish, at least they look better with higher graphic settings, the vids in the other topic really got me concerned but now most of the seem acceptable. I really like most of the barb ones and some DH ( especially tier 15). I'm just hoping the sets and the unique items look better than this...

Wow this is awesome. I was really worried when I saw the picture based class tier vid. But with motion they look amazing. I think my favorites are witch doctor and wizard.

Compared to Diablo II i like the fact that they made the effort to transcribe the power of every set in an unique look, but what bothers me the most is that half of these armors look a bit excessive, some of them reminds me the "WoW esthetics", some others looks like costume or dramatic-cosplay and few of them reminds me my Christmas tree :/
The others are really fine, though.
My favorites are the WD ones, they really stick to the character
I have to return some videotapes.

Ah look at that. They do look better when animated and moving
Maybe they are not so bad after all.
I'm still strongly against horns, hoofs, and somewhat heels. In Slavic culture horns on people's heads mean they are cheated on. I'll be playing a female sorc, which I will name after my girlfriend. I better be able to hide that horned helmet or I'm in for trouble.

I'm kind of loyal to the Wizard in regards to what I plan on playing, but I really do like the Barbarian armor.
Out of curiousity, what is exactly being shown in these videos? Set items only, all non-set armors that simply share visual style based on their tier, or what? I assume this isn't literally every piece of armor in the game.

This^
And personally I like the WD sets, 93.3% of them(repeating of course).
Barb ones look the best overall imo. Witch doctor masks are also pretty cool. But 2nd last Demon Hunter set @ 2:50 is best :D white hood with wing-like armor.
Micro at its best is like an elegant dance between two people trying to achieve a similar end.

They should definately bring in transmog to Diablo 3. Everyone ending with the same set would be dull.

Haha, I thought of Beetlejuice too when I saw that mask.
Barbarian is going to look the best because he's the biggest. Think orc shoulders. Two of them make him look like the Lich King. Good or bad? You decide.
Wizard and monk sets will appeal to more people if we are given the chance to hide the helmets from view. I think that although these are a bit more 'cartoon-ish' than D2's armors, the engine has changed and from the looks of the d3 environment , in play they will look just fine.

Yeah, you're not going to be able to spend a lot of time admiring your armor. Can you even zoom in?
