So my friend is having a problem with his microphone settings when in-game.
When he starts a game of Starcraft, his mic automatically adjusts itself to a high level, meaning my ears almost get blown off when talking to him. He does not have any of the auto adjust settings on and it only seems to do this with SC2.
Anyone experienced this before and know how to fix it?
Thanks. |

| Well, as a workaround, you can open your volume mixer, and turn down skype individually. |

he means, right click the sounds icon, open recording devices, right-click on the mic, properties, advanced, and disable the exlusive mode options. |

Did you try just turning down your skype in your speakers/headphones? Viable workaround.
Just right click sounds, open volume mixer with skype open, and turn down skype. Bit of a PITA, but if nothing else is working, it's a good short term solution. |

| Skype always kills my games...in WoW and SWTOR, I have all skype automatic options disabled, yet it always randomly adjust the volume so that some days I play the games at 10% master volume and others 90% (no speaker adjustments). Hopefully the fix above will help me. |
