| Is it just me or they are trying to add 20 diferent siege units for every race.I feel like that is too much and might make the game a bit pasive(eg TvT) and too positional(thats not necessarily bad but it could become). |

HOW are you expecting to fix siege line standoffs by introducing an EVEN LONGER RANGED UNIT? |

| The Tempest now sounds like a Carrier...why even bother removing the Carrier then. Just fix the Carrier AI and be done with it -.- |

So they remove the carrier for a new air ship that does the same and hope we start using that one ?

The tempest is currently a very long-ranged aerial siege weapon that can strike both air and ground targets. This gives the protoss army some real reach to force an engagement on their terms in the end-game.
Funny how it makes me think about a wings of liberty unit.. oh yeah I know, it's the carrier >_<. |

I don't know why people re so surprised about units getting scrapped. The 1st builds that they showed for SC2 are completely different to what we got in the end.
Besides I expect a lot of new unit upgrades for HotS.Hopefully they do what I wanted with the Colossus having to "brace" to fire off their Extended thermal Lance upgrade, Blizzard has acknowledged that the Colossus is boring so I don't see it remaining unchanged. Don't really know how the viper dark swarm will work now. Does it target units? or an Area? |

| So are they going to replace the shredder and replicant units with something new? Or just scrapping 2 new units altogether? |

White-Ra used it against Stephano in a showmatch. Is that what you're thinking of? They didn't really work.
As for all of the people instantly complaining about balance... concepts/ideas aren't imbalanced. Recall on nexus isn't inherently broken, it could be stupid. What if, for example, it costs 100 energy and only recalls 2 units? Way underpowered; stop freaking out and wait until you actually see what it's going to do. The only thing that can really happen here is discussions of concepts... concepts can't really be OP or UP (only good or bad). It's the numbers that affect OP-ness, and we have none of them.
That said, I'm so glad that they removed the replicator. The concept was just dumb. I did like the shredder, though. Sad to see it go, but I'm sure that if they removed it it was because it really was breaking the game. |

So they did some neat stuff but still kept the swarm host.
That unit alone is keeping me from being interested........... |

You are in a very small minority. Swarm host is one of the best ideas for the expansion. |

I'm kinda sad to see the shredder go, not because it was an awesome unit, but because it had an interesting mechanic/idea behind it. Terrans don't get early 0 supply ground defenses unlike the other races, so why not make the shredder into some kind of building, have it dropped from an orbital to attach to a bunker or give it to the Raven (and get rid of auto-turrets) ?
The idea of a factory based missile launcher to break siege lines is not a good one since it will only produce even longer ranged standoffs. I like the Oracle and most of the zerg ideas since they incorporate new mechanics: the ability to lock down minerals with the Oracle/Vipers might very well produce some troll worthy moments The mass recall thing might work if it has a ridiculously long cooldown time or if it's given to an actual unit and not a building.
I feel that instead of creating entirely new units that might make old units obsolete, why doesn't Blizzard add some choices/buffs to already existing units or buildings. I'm looking at you Carrier. Having the choice of two types of interceptors or having the choice of an upgrade that would increase its mobility a lot at the cost of interceptor numbers would be nice, instead of an entirely new unit that is basically a flying colossus. |

I posted in this thread before, but I will post again. I just realized they change a lot of stuff just for the sake of changing it. SC:BW vs SC2 - DON'T FIX SOMETHING THAT AIN'T BROKEN or at least come up with same quality stuff. It's sad to say it, but it seems SC2 is the 1st game from Blizz that is not a huge success, if you look at SC:BW not only battle.net was better, but the game as a whole. SC2 player sees it as a huge step backwards.Last edit: 2012-04-12 06:21:05 |

Think it's a building...sort of... sounds C&C ion cannon retarded anyway.
Do people realy have a problem with siege lines though? I thought this "problem" was more down to maps then "options". Besides, braking siege lines should be an art, not a "build this and click". |

It's an area just like Dark Swarm.

Please give me your insight on why it is a good unit. It is one of my least favorite barring the two that they already scrapped. The Swarm Host literally serves no purpose other than parking it outside of the opponents base so it can spawn one beetle that is somehow more durable than a Hydralisk. It's not dynamic whatsoever. What else do you do with it? |

When I see Dustin say for the 10th time Swarm Host is "very zergy" I just facepalm. Its like he is trying to convince both us and himself that it is indeed a magnificient unit and fits perfectly with zerg, while we both know its so laughably 9gag style lame. Its like a mushroom shooting little hydras every hour.
"It is very zergy! Very swarmy! Terrible terrible damage!"
Also his game design relevant points and things he chooses to say in a interview are like so out of the blue wtf style stuff; "Yes we want to make great game but we gotta hold up on many regards like for example, we want to make ultras like 100m big and super cool because that what ratios irl are, but we cant do that beause you can hide zerglings behind!" REALLY? THATS why you cant inplement that huge ultra in my SC2? Are you sure you cant perhaps implement that because its retarded?? I mean its such an irrelevant things to say when discussing the game.
Also his solution for death balls: Hey guys this Shredder unit is so cool and definitely something you dont wanna put in your death ball because guess what: It wont work near friendly units!!! Brilliant isnt it!! Yes and thats exactly how we fixed protoss! We gave them an unit for harrasing spectators who cheer at bubles cast on opponent mineral fields! And you definitelly dont want to implement that in your deathball because if you implement it, and then you go to your opponents mineral field, you can kill his workers so in this situation bubble doesnt do terrible terrible damage.
It just pissed me off when i saw how he added "it is very zergy" line in his diary.
I want to point out that these guys have absolutely lost touch with reallity and cant see their game objectively. Does anyone remember automicro?
