Just started as Resisty of Darklore!

Darklore feels weak early on compared to Crux. Even with a Vampiric Rite off of a full field, I get something around 20/3/20 and basically lose 3 life when Crux will have something bigger than that already by that point.

I know life is meaningless until the last point but even then, the only way to stop Crux is to get your own super-buffed follower in the first few turns before they do.

Since it's still the beta, the game can be still tuned up, so hopefully if it really does "require too much grinding", it will be fixed sometime.

I wasn't impressed with Vita initially, but it's really grown on me (only played a few hours so far.)

Anyone know when episode 3 will be out?

when you have 100, you can go to the gym and trade a copy of the card for a chance of upgrading a card

Started playing a few weeks ago. I love the game, takes lots of grinding but there are enough low level dungeons for people with bad decks to play for hours and hours =P.

i love the auto tournament its such a cool idea, having a computer play your deck at 3 am =P

i play on channel 4, seems like the best channel in terms of chat and what not!

Its random but the whole point of the game is to come up with a strategy/deck that maximizes your chances. ssiantly with the random combat system comes a lot of different skills and strategies that other card games dont have.

Its actually really refreshing from other card games.

I have to ask, I've seen a few matches on Cel's stream and I've read all this:

Where is the strategy in actual gameplay?

It seems to me that decks are just rock/paper/scissors or completely luck based (I draw X before you draw Y and I win, else, I lose). There doesn't seem to be much strategy in what to play when since you appear to be able to regularly dump your hand and maybe sandbag a removal spell for some big thing. Battles are completely random so there's no strategy there...

It just doesn't seem deep to me and I foresee much frustration when the ONLY POSSIBLE attack that could lose me the game happens over and over because the AI is derp and facing people who grinded for longer/paid more stomping me over and over with me having no strategic recourse.

I'm thinking about giving this a try, but those are my reservations in doing so, where am I right and where am I wrong?

Basically most of the strategy is in deck building (even tho there is a lot during the game), for example i use a deck that focuses around getting size 1 card in slot 1, size 2 card in slot 2, because i have buffs that buff cards if their size = slot number (its also a debuff deck). The strategy during the game is setting up the field so i can put those cards in the right slots (you shouldn't plan on getting a perfect hand in the first turn). Every move you make will be dependent on what race you are playing against as they focus on different things but its all about maximizing your chances.

For example.. There is a super buff monster on the field with a lot of armor so i throw out a monster that can make the defense 0 and then throw out cheap monsters i don't need to buffer the main monster so it can get the job done. once the defense is removed to 0 i throw out stronger monsters/debuffs to kill it (not saying this is the best way to go about it but yeah, just describing a strategy you can use while in the game).

There are cards that will instant kill a monster (one of them being a size 2 spell), and if you are good enough there cards you can use to stop it if you can figure out when your opponent will use the card (assuming you know he has it). Ways to do this will be looking at his size already on the field and then looking at how many cards he put down that turn, if he has 4 size already on the field then throws down 3 cards, its a good bet one of them will be the size 2 spell card that can kill your buffed monster.

I do agree it is annoying in pvp when you go up a deck that is simply better because they grinded more then you, but it is still possible to win and feels amazing when you do. Just a few min ago beat a guy who sent out two 33 point cards (good cards) and i have no 33 point cards as of right now but with good strategy i was able to use my lower point cards efficiently enough to kill the two 33 point cards and eventually win the duel.

Hopefully that all makes sense =P i typed in a hurry as im hungry and want food!!
