Naniwa's got this.
I don't know why people want a 3-time GSL champion to win AGAIN over the foreign hope or the player who's sending all his money back home (Alive). |

| Well, I think MVP is tops in the polls because the 3 tosses ( parting, nani, squirtle) are splitting the votes. |

| I hope MVP absolutely trashes NaNiWa 3:0. It's sad that such a bad human being is so good at sc2. And I think if MVP falls to NaNi, NaNi will take the whole thing. |

Good call, I was confused as to how he could be leading given his condition, and the fact that he's not the best TvPer (who is?) in a field of tosses. |

| Really hope nanaiwa makes it through, but I remember what happened the last time a foreign protoss went up against MVP in the ro8 |

Could you define a "good human being", and explain why such a human being deserves to win the GSL?
EDIT: I'm liking Parting to win, but Hero is looking scaryyyyy.Last edit: 2012-04-27 12:44:50 |

| Parting is gonna have a big hurdle to overcome with Oz. It's a huge test for him: Is he a one-matchup wonder, or can he truly establish himself as a solid all-around player with real staying power? |

Maybe because some people are fans of MVP? Are we getting a thread for Off the Record with Hero? It starts in 10 minutesLast edit: 2012-04-27 12:51:49 |

Dont worry, he has got a lot of time to practice his PvP with Squirtle. He is not a one-matchup wonder, his PvZ is amazing (watch the latest day9 daily for a taste) |

NaNiwa used to be pretty much the most hated player in Korea, right after the infamous "Probe Rush" against NesTea.
The thumb down at some MLG against NesTea, even if he won didnt help his reputation either.
Not only does he act like a kid in the game, but it seems he doesnt socialize outside the game with any of the other pro gamers either. (IdrA does that)
I would be fine with ThorZain, Stephano, HuK or any other foreigner, but Naniwa is just a special case and needs to be disrespected for his general behaviour.Last edit: 2012-04-27 13:25:54 |

I disagree.
The guy got kicked out of his house. He is almost quite literally homeless. He has one mission and one mission only, and that's to win Code S. Making friends? Socializing? Being nice? He's fighting for his survival and his pride.

| Enough is enough, Supernova's time to shine has arrived. He is quite possibly the LEAST talked about player in the Ro8. Yeah, Naniwa winning would be big for esports, but Supernova's been one of the most consistent code S players in the GSL without any recognition for it. |

MVP fan here, and yes. I mean, it's no MKP, MMA or DRG fanbase because they're basically fanatics haha.
Also partly I dont' at all care about the foreigner vs Korean break down. I just like great play and good personalities. MVP is a great package of great play and a calm, nice guy. And really he's probably the most consistent starcraft 2 player to date. I like non-streaky guys.
However I think vthree is right. Votes are pretty split between the three protoss players for "who will win". People expect a Protoss, but all three of those players have a real shot.
Hero, Taeja and Supernova are huge underdogs. MVP is like the "safe" terran bet even with his poor condition. How do you ever really bet against someone with a record that looks like this:
Mvp (player)/Results
To be fair. I'll be shocked if he beats Naniwa. Pleasantly shocked though =D Expecting Naniwa to make at least Ro4 though. |
