| Sounds fun, not too far from buffalo but i need to get my passport. x.x The 55 dollar entry fee is pretty damn steep for "up to $250 in prizes" though... |

The 55$ is for Anime North Convention. The entrance to the tournament is free, but you need to pay to get into the convention as a whole.
This is typically geared for people intending to go to Anime North. |

Yeah I get that, I just have no interest in the rest of the convention and it would be cool if there were a bigger prizepool for that costly of an event. oh well

too bad my rents had to move us from toronto T_T
Anyway I dislike the time limit but it's understandable. 40 minute in REAL TIME is enough for a Bo1 anyways. But what about Bo3? Are those exceptional (since it's the semi and final).
I'm not sure how I feel about the 2 point for win, 1 point for time limit win. But again this isn't really a problem (it won't promote cheese and all-ins) as long as it is for the Bo1s only. For Bo3, 40 minute real time is about 55 game minutes, that could easily be reached in 3 18 minute games.
Oh and of course, even better is that it's at an anime convention. Free tourny with $250 ish prizes? WTF T_T gah!!! i need to move back once i graduate from college kekek |

Hi All,
We only started up LAN in 2010, with some leftover space and a few tables. That had 10~ participants a prize pool of $0! We're slowly gaining traction, but the more support we have from fans, especially fans of both Anime and SC2 (HEY, Day9!), the more I can grow this event! So stop by and watch a few games, and we might just see the prize pool keep on ballooning!
To clear up the time limit rule, 40 minutes is PER MATCH, not PER ROUND, so BO3 rounds could THEORETICALLY take up to 2 hours (+ breaks) to complete. This is mostly for scheduling purposes, as we try to cram a whole tourney into 1 day. The reason for this is that we have 1 day passes available for $40, quite a bit less than $55 for the weekend
Thanks for everyone's interest! |

I think it's 40 minutes per game and not perhaps. We/They're trying to fit both LoL and StarCraft II, hence the relatively short format >_< |

Hey everyone Slacker101 here and one of the big things people are concerned about is regarding the $55 weekend pass to enter, there is an optional day pass for Saturday for $40 while the entry to the LAN itself is free you are required to have either a weekend pass which is $55 or a Saturday pass $40 because it is within Anime North. Hope the $55 pass didn't dissuade you and maybe having knowledge of the cheaper pass helped thanks.
