Sadly Dick Clark has passed away today, he was 82 years old. The above is an article briefly accounting the legacy in one of the greatest personalities on screen. Younger posters probably remember him from his New Year's celebration shows, but he was a major player in the media world hosting American Bandstand, originally here in Philly but eventually it became a nationwide show. Later on he spearheaded Dick Clark productions and is responsible for a number of hugely successful shows. RIP, he was a legend. |

I hope I am remembering the right guy...this guy was also the host of a few gameshows right? I think I remember him from 25,000$ Pyramid.

| R.I.P. to a radio and television legend. I did watch some American Bandstand a long time ago, but I knew him mostly through Pyramid and New Year's Rockin' Eve. New Year's Eve won't be the same. The world won't be the same. |

After his stroke, I've always suspected this was going to happen any day whenever I saw him on New Years Eve. Though not especially surprising, it's still it's very sad to hear it.
