They're not going to release that information, but I think it's tiny now. Thing is, with a tiny PPV stream, they make better money than a huge free stream.

| Since when did MCvZ become relevant in discussing the balance of PvZ? I think basing things of the guy with no lost match and 95(?)% set win is not the best thing to do, even if he destroys the GSL champion. |

It's mostly for tie-breakers, since this is round-robin. I agree that it's weird though. If you already lost/won the first 2 games, you don't care all that much about the last one.
How different is that than just using overall map wins/losses to break ties like in other pools?
because when you dont play all 3 games, map scores will contain different amounts of games, such as 6-5 vs 7-6. Sure technically 6-5 is better percentage wise, but is it really better. Its not the most fair way. By everyone playing the same amount of games, that will not happen
I have nothing against this system, but I don't really see the benefit of playing 3 matches over a 'maps won-maps lost' system. Using that, your players would be in a tie and the head to head score would determine the outcome. I see no real problem with that. |

That was before MC's resurgence and after he became unbeatable in PvZ though. MC best toss easily! 3:0 DRG ez. |

You mean the one season where there were three zergs in the Ro16 and only DRG in the Ro8?
Yeah, great zerg season. |

6-5 vs 7-6 is a tie in most tournaments using wins - losses, rather than percentage. Just curious how much lower the odds of ties are. It doesn't seem like the odds would be that much different as to warrant a change.
think it would be fun to have a single tiebreaker game between anyone who was tied in any case -- it'd be an exciting as hell match.Last edit: 2012-04-21 09:16:36 |
