Any plans to nerf the bayonet overhead to a reasonable reach? And make swords a viable weapon? It's a tad bit annoying having my lance outranged by a musket and having to hit people 4+ times with my overly short butter knife that moves at the speed of a turtle.

Hey, I got one for you.
How do walls vs firearms work in this game exactly? I noticed that some walls can be shot through and some can't. Also there are a lot of cases where, if you aim in 3rd person, you think you have a clear shot while in 1st person you don't. Any way to tell whether you're going to hit someone despite not having a straight line of sight in 1st person?
PS: You showing up here this quickly after we barely started the thread is one of the coolest things I've seen a game dev do in a while. <3 TaleWorlds.

just a quick vid I made. Will be capturing whole matches provided they're sick ones. Nothing like 25+ green russians running at you and swarming the whole fucking place...

- Regarding the bayonet, the current combat system is being experienced by players in many ways. Many agree that the combat system is fine, while others don't. The good thing about the developers of this DLC is that they listen, and do what must be done. If this issue ends up as something that must be fixed, trust my word that the fix will come in no time. Also, the DLC is based upon the first mod which was created by the same developers of the DLC. The mod was rather similar to the DLC, and the combat system as well. What the devs are trying to do now is test a new type of combat system instead of the one that was used in the old mod.
- Regarding the lance issue, the lance is a tricky weapon. It does have the longest reach in the game, but it needs time after release to reach out at max range. What you might experience is something that many others do. Try to release the attack a few feet away from the target that you charge at, in order to stretch your arm and lance to the max range, and see if you notice any difference.
- Regarding the butter knife, that weapon is rather weak in melee. The damage is low due to the size of the weapon, and the swing is slower than the stab of a bayonet due to the movement required by the body. There has been a lot of talk regarding changes to some of the weapons in game, and you can expect something to happen in the sword category.

- We are aware of this issue that some walls or large rocks are not as "bulletproof" as they should be. The devs are already working on fixing some objects so they interact better when in contact with players. I am sure that this issue will be fixed as soon as possible. I myself was once shot, even though I was taking cover behind a large rock. :>
- Hehe, no worries. By the way, I am not here on behalf of TaleWorlds. I help out the guys at FSE [devs. of the DLC]. But yeah, I <3 TaleWorlds as well, if there was no Mount & Blade, I doubt there would have been a Napoleonic Wars DLC.

Would you mind answering a couple of my questions?
Is the targeting reticule on guns actually representative of the accuracy? What I mean, is that when I move around while aiming, the reticule doesn't seem to change much, but I remember in the original M&B, when you did the same with bows or crossbows the reticule would get much larger to represent your inaccuracy from moving. So, when you move while aiming, do you not incur accuracy penalties, or is it just that the reticule isn't changing?
How does building/wall destruction work? Is it just that they have a set amount of health before they break, or is it more complicated? I know you can blow certain parts of buildings out, leaving the rest intact, so is it just each part has its own health? How is cannonball damage calculated? On a related note, is it possible to bust down doors or gates by hand? On the custom siege server, I saw someone hacking away at a door with a bayonet for a while and doing damage, but when I tried, it didn't seem to work.
Thanks! It's awesome that you guys actually found us and are paying attention to us.

Nice shooting there OjKa. That server and custom map has to be one of the best I've been on so far, while defending I'd usually be in that corner tower area to the right over where you are that over looks the trench, the wall behind it, and the stone wall to the right of the fortress. Custom Map 19 one of the best maps :D

Not sure about public line battles, I imagine it would be a server's or clan's event to field larger battles.

Nice video.
It may have been because of the first Guild Wars 2 beta weekend (I can't say I'm not guilty), or simply the timing, but there was not much of a turnout for this first NW meetup. I just missed you in the group's chat room, Fatslug. I planned to hop on Warband at exactly 8 CET, and was filling the time with Civ5. Sorry about that. I played with Teslar for a while and we did pretty well on NW US_1 battle maps.
I plan to play again this Tuesday at around 7pm PST for a couple of hours on a Battle server or a Siege server. Will be in the Steam Group chat.

Oh awesome, yeah I was there it was mandatory my name was Volsky though with 500 ping due to some internet issue and being in Australia I wasn't that helpful with only 1 kill. I was mainly in the linebattle, steam crashed on me so I couldn't participate in the siege except for the last map where we lost, so I am not sure if we won or lost that match. It was fun but it was a bit confusing as I hadn't done any training yet as it was suppose to be a bootcamp on that day.
I wasnt much more help for my team, i think i got 4 kills overall but 3 of them were in the siege, which im not sure was official. We, the 32nd, won both sieges, once attacking once defending so if thats official the 32nd won 4-3 and if thats unofficial you guys won the linebattles 3-2.
All in all was fun event

By the way, you guys should watch Hornblower and Sharpe.
=O What did I do?
Also for any random people reading the thread:
If you already own warband, this DLC is definitely worth the cost. Even playing alone it's lots of fun, and when you get some people together, it gets even better! If you don't own Warband, wait for a Steam sale and then pick it up. This game is really amazing, and even in the base game, the open sandbox world means you can spend tons of time just having fun and doing what you want. There's also tons of fun, free, mods, in addition to this DLC.

Myself, Mr. Wiggles, and Box tried out Commander Battle last night and it was actually really fun. The only real problem is figuring out the controls, and then HOW to use them. If you're curious about Commander Battle (or if other Commander modes pop up like they did in Fire and Sword), basically instead of the teams being made up of entirely human players, each player is assigned 15-25 soldiers to command in battle (the server admins can set the soldier per player amount). You start out as an officer on foot, and if you die, you "respawn" as one of your other soldiers. This continues until all of your soldiers are dead.
They take the typical Warband army commands, and they really need them otherwise you will die rather often. What we found out is that if you really want your men to hit anything, the best way is to get them in a 1 line formation of course, and then have them hold the position. This makes them get in a much more orderly fashion, and then take aim. I was manually commanding their fire, which was pretty satisfying once I knew how to get them to stop running around like they had no clue what they were doing. The server we played on was the 32nd's CB server, which allowed up to 45 players, and usually had 15 soldiers per player. The battles were massive and took a VERY long time. The timer on that server was capped at an hour and I want to say one of our last battles of the night took over 30 minutes. I'm fairly certain that all three of us kept some soldiers to nearly the end, too. The very first server I tried Commander Battle on allowed up to 20 players, and had smaller maps, thus shorter matches.
It still isn't quite as organized as the regiment line battles that I've seen in videos, but the longer battles and more coordination makes it a very different experience from the 200 player servers. I would kind of like to see something along the lines of a siege map in commander mode, but without respawning like in the battle game mode.
