I have good news and I have bad news. First of all the Café Especial doesn't accept my reservation, because they already have a reservation booked for that evening so... they don't want to accept a reservation for 75 people. I asked HasuObs if he knew others places where we could go to and suggested the Restaurant Oasis ( http://www.restaurantoasis.de/weg.htm )
I called and usually they close at 11:30PM CET but I asked if its possible to close later and he told me that even 1 PM or a bit later should be no problem. The gamescom does close at 6PM CET so I asked for reservation at 7:30PM CET ( 8/17/2012) ... so everything is settled. This place is a bit more expensive but the variation of food is also a lot bigger... to sum it up

once again we are approaching the gamescom which comes with an amazing Starcraft 2 main tournament and probably a few smaller invite tournaments as well. At least thats what we got to see last year with the HomerJ tournament and XMG's Cup-Final.
It might be a bit early to start the thread, but the sooner I have a list of people that would like to attend or an actualy confirmed number, the sooner I can take a reservation for a restaurant / bar. Past two years have shown that the following place

is very close to the location and everyone had great fun there. 2010 we still had minor problems with sharing the bill and a few guys already left, thats why we decided that everyone will pay for their own stuff immediatly after serving and I think everything went pretty well in 2011.
After the party friends and me were there again to grab some drinks before the ESL players party and I did talk to the restaurant manager and he was pretty happy about what he got out of the reservation and also the Teamliquidians behaviour. I asked him if I could possibly get the whole place for the next year and besides he obviously couldn't accept it right away, he didn't disagree in the first place.
For this year, I plan on actually doing it. Last years reservation was 80-100 persons and it was packed. We actually had to open up another room which we used as the 'progamer / caster / close friends' area. This was by no means to get distance between players and fans, but just to guarantee the progamers can have good talk because obviously its rare that you have so many progamers/friends in one place.
By no means anyone was denied to enter that room / talk to players or commentators etc. Most of us were standing outside smoking or drinking cocktails anyways, so please don't take it as a negative thing.
As I said, I'm planning on booking the whole place if needed, but obviously if we get 'just' 80-100 persons, I'd do the same reservation as before.
Obviously if someone isn't satisfied with that place or isn't satisfied with me organizing this meetup for Teamliquid, please let me know .. but I guess everyone was pretty okay and satisfied last time.
For now, I'll leave you with two polls and the chance to leave comments, feel free to shoot me a PM. As I do not know if the players party will be on friday or saturday, I'll have more than just two polls actually , haha.
Please note, if the outcome of the MeetUp poll does create a 'conflict' with the ESL players party, we'll have the meetup on the other day, as usually all casters and progamers want to attend the players party and the meetup and I don't want to split up people.
I will talk to Take / ESL and try to get my hands on information when the player party will take place, but as for now, we'll have those polls. I will make a list of people that are interested, and another list of people that will attend 100%, this ofcourse will not start right now, but a bit later when we got more / better information!
Not sure if I'm gonna make it this year as I don't know if I will be in Germany at the time, but if I'm there I'll edit it in here and be coming 100% The last two meet-ups were awesome, always so nice people there, even the pro-gamers are very approachable and the food is awesome (I can recommend the spare-ribs ^^)
Edit: In case you're making the list, I'm 100% attending, and maybeee bring 1-2 friends.

Oh, man. I really want to go again, that was so much fun. My son is going to be born about a week before that, though; I'm not sure if my wife will let me go spend an evening out right then. Maybe it will work out though!

I was there last time but sadly not for very long because I took some non-starcraft people with me and they wanted to go.
But this time I'll be there ALONE and have a beer or two, so I can actually talk to people without the urge to kill myself because my english doesn't work infront of pros (I'm so sry Moonglade XD). =) I'll also get myself a better cam because the cam from last year fucked up 80% of the photos.
Is it confirmed that ESL will host a sc2\esports tournament there? Have tried googleing\asked a friend who works for ESL but no confirmation yet.
That being said, I met my current girlfriend (who I am now living together with in germany) at last years team liquid meetup : D Really hoping we can make it to this years meet up, but not certain we will be able to

I dont see ESL not doing a big SC2 tourney at gamescom any time soon I cant find any official sites / announcements anywhere but I talked to rotterdam in hannover and yes theres gonna be SC2 and LoL in cologne with equally big stages.

They will have an event there, and if you look at how SC2 has done at IEM last year, it's really unlikely for it not to be there. I think we can safely assume IEM isn't going to let us plan a meetup for nothing anyway. Carmac even shared some beers with the visitors of this party!
anyone knows how long in advance you have to book the tickets? I'd love to go, but only get my exam results end of june, is that time enough to book tickets still then or already sold out normally? :s

I was thinking about attending the Expo... don't know for sure now if I find something to sleep or if I drive back home for 3h... But IF I am in the area I sure would check out this party!
