Not like we need statistics to back anything we say anymore... Pierce sells obvious fouls and he's good at it. He's good at pump fakes, drawing contact, whatever comes with experience. He isn't really known for flopping. He might get carried out on a wheelchair once a decade but that isn't giving Celtics any extra points. He doesn't get to the foul line nearly as often as others of near similar status.
Super srs. I'm not exactly sure what stat you'd use to justify these claims. However, there were plenty of possessions in the last few years where it looked like Pierce's sole intent was to draw a foul. I don't get that same impression from watching Lebron play.

thought it was a flop at first until you mentioned the elbow. the animations too fast, i need a better angle to see it. now i just really dont know what to believe lol.
on a related note, i think it probably seems like lebron flops a lot more than he actually does because of his size. if someone considerably smaller hits him, it may seem to us watching on television that it was a flop when in reality it could still hurt. |

Interesting that the NBA has come out and admitted that they blew the inbounds foul call on Marquis Daniels at the end of the BOS-ATL game. I happened to be watching it at the time, and I was pretty surprised the Hawks didn't get a FT and the ball. I'm not sure if the play was reviewable, but it seems like one they definitely should have reviewed at the time. Sucks for the Hawks, even if they may have lost anyway.
I'm hearing people talk about the officials intentionally blowing the call as part of some hokey conspiracy, but I just see it as the refs making a really bad call/mis-call, which has, sadly, not been all that uncommon during these playoffs. |
