I seriously dont understand why people keep claiming PvP isn't as skill based as the other matchups. Numerous pro players say that PvP isnt just a coinflip. Do people not realize that Ro16 Code S groups are picked by players and not randomly put together/seeded. There is a reason why Protoss players pick other protoss, and the reason is not that its a luck based / conflip matchup
you know, there is a reason why there are the most upsets in pvp. |

It's just it's really volatile and has a higher element of luck than other mu's. If there's one mu where a stronger player is more likely to fall to a weaker one it's definitely PvP. |

Hardly.
PartinG still needs to up his consistency considering how he played at Spring Arena 1.
EDIT: He still looks a bit better considering that MC has been playing inconsistently as well though.
Barely anyone cared about who Squirtle was pre-IPL4.

It's not exactly strong.
He's sub 50% in korea (with over 50 games played) and a little over 50% internationally (with almost 70 games played).
Very inconsistent at least, some days he looks great and some days he looks really weak. Hell sometimes he does both in the same day.Last edit: 2012-04-26 21:11:56 |

Yeah, he is #1 prize earning due to luck. He was ahead of all the other toss and now, they are beginning to catch up. But we have to remember that once you get good, people begin to study you. So it is harder to stay on top (MMA, DRG lost in Ro32...). Granted, PartinG and Squirtle are playing great now. But maybe their styles will get picked apart in the next GSL. Great players are defined by their consistency and their ability to adapt when everyone is gunning for you. So I would classify PartinG and Squirtle as good players who are playing great now. And if they show they can keep it up in the next couple GSL, other big foreign events, then I would classify them as great players along with MVP, MMA, MKP, Nestea, DRG, MC |
